"Did a really good job. Received multiple bids for my front patio and sidewalk, Tracy Norman Concrete was the most affordable. We had some rain and cold weather, they communicated the entire time to be sure the pour was communicated during proper temps, on dry ground."

Customers say: Quick response

"The Normans were excellent contractors, unfazed by unexpected issues with wire in the old concrete and sudden rain deluges creating damage to the freshly poured concrete. Both issues were handled well, leaving us with a well done project. The contract price was reasonable, especially for the high quality of their work. In addition, they were a pleasure to know. We highly recommend this professional family business."

"Called Bryan on a Friday and he came out on Saturday for an estimate. Job included finishing prep on an area previously started and never finished by another contractor, pouring concrete to which he added a color chosen by me, and stamping a stone-like texture, then sealing. Because he had a delay on a job scheduled for Monday, he said he could have his crew there around 8 am to start and would probably finish in a day. I agreed and at 8 am Monday a crew of 4 plus Bryan were at my home to begin. In less than 8 hours, they had the patio poured and stamped. They returned Tuesday to seal the concrete. Extremely prompt and reliable as well as professional. Would definitely recommend Keystone Concrete and Bryan to anyone for a concrete project."

"I was going to put down the big box store type landscape pavers to divide the river rock from the grass. I really wanted the concrete curbing. I had tried to find someone in the Hartsville area to come and give me a price. One day, I went online and found Curbside Appeal. The problem was he was close to 85 miles away. I called anyway. I was on his website, and he discussed what I wanted . He agreed to come to Hartsville and we set the date. Bill was right on time, and the finished product is so pretty. It looks like a large ribbon of brick. You will be pleased with his work. He was right in line on price, and did not charge me to come to Hartsville from Conway."

"The grout in our kitchen area was extremely stained and ugly and no amount of scrubbing on our part could get it to come clean. The two Beyond Clean service reps who came to our house promptly set about the task, and soon had all the tiles and grout looking like new again. At the conclusion of the visit, they reviewed the steps we needed to take in the future to properly care for our new clean floors. We call ourselves and quot;Beyond Satisfiedand quot; with their service. <br />"

"After reviewing our situation CFS recommended we contact a brick mason to rebuild the support columns.  His conclusion was that it would not be a good investment to utilize their services for the repair I needed.  He also surveyed our fireplace and attached porch and noted potential areas to keep and eye on. <br /> No pressure at all to contract for services, he was very knowledgeable and professional.  He provided good background information for us to understand what had caused the problems (ground settling) and how to monitor for future changes. <br /> While we did not contract with CFS I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Sunset Beach, NC

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
