"Darryl did outstanding work. He was prompt, punctual, and attentive to detail. He worked efficiently, making sure he understood what our needs were and making sure that he had addressed all our concerns when he had finished. His pricing was fair and reasonable."

"Avoid this business. They have terrible follow-up, customer service, and owners. They are very unprofessional, insulting and condescending. They care only about getting their money. As examples, I asked them what they would do about my gutter guards 5 weeks before they were supposed to replace my roof, and they didn't respond. Then the week they were supposed to do the work they sent a document that said they aren't responsible for removing, reinstalling or replacing gutter guards with the disclaimer of course that they wouldn't be responsible for any damage. Their document also wanted me to inform them of any concerns in writing, before they did their work, I did. One thing I told them is that I have new grass in part of my lawn and also told them that they can access my entire house and yard, without walking on that area. Their response was: If the ground is soft and 10 people walk on it over one day it can get damaged. Their reply also insulted me by twice saying "It is really just common sense..." I told them to stay off of an area and they could get everywhere without walking on it, and rather than say "OK, we will certainly avoid it if we can, thanks for letting us know." they said what I posted above. One of the owners then called me and again was insulting. I reiterated the above, letting him know I was just doing what their document told me, and he said "Yep, that is just common sense" and started just saying "Sensitive people..." as if I was being an idiot. I say: don't walk on this area of my lawn and He says: if people walk on it it will get damages, that's just common sense. And of course he then let me know that they'd be billing me for 10% of the total cost (which I figured, because it is in the signed proposal) and if I didn't, they'd turn me over to collections. I asked why they didn't get back to me about my gutter guards when I asked. He deflected that and said something non-sensical. Avoid them at all costs. I will pay the 10% and sleep better knowing I don't have an uncaring, unprofessional company working on my house. If I could leave a ZERO start review, I would."

"2 poorly done jobs was enough for us. They are unreliable, unprepared, lack communication, and cut corners. After I reached out with my dissatisfaction he blocked me from his Facebook page so that I could not leave a review. Red flag. Outdoor permanent light install: They no showed on the agreed day, that night Kyle reached out and asked if they could come the next morning. The day of the install they were a few hours late, making me late for work, when they arrived they realized they mismeasured and didn't have additional supplies they needed so they asked us to order them and would come back when we had them. Second time they come back and they are several hours late again. After 8-9 hours of hanging 125 feet of lights, fixing something that was overlooked, and sticking around to troubleshoot issues, the lights worked for about 10 minutes-long enough for us to admire and for them to get their pictures for social media, then a few lights went out. I assumed it was something going on in the app and would have my husband check it out, so I sent them on their way. It was dark and cold and didn't want to keep them any longer, and I needed to get my kids in bed. Next morning we go outside to see the installation wasn't holding up. Lights that were supposed to be screwed on were hanging off, cords that were supposed to be tucked away were flying in the wind, and more cords that I asked them to hide were not hidden (that was my fault for not checking the night of because it was dark). I reached out immediately asking if they could come back to take them down. Kyle agreed and also offered to come back to troubleshoot and fix what was wrong instead but I declined because given all the trouble we went through we were not confident in their ability to fix these issues for the long term. The idea of throwing away money on the install and paying them again to take them down was gut wrenching but we had no other way of getting them down ourselves and we just wanted to be done with it and at least recoup the money we spent on the lights. He told me he would get an estimate to remove them and be there on a specific day. Well, said day comes around and he is a no show nor did I ever get an estimate, so I texted him asking if he was still coming and the cost. I didn't hear from him until afternoon of the following day saying he can be there the next morning and provided me his estimate which was just a little cheaper than the install, which seemed unethical considering their install didn't even last through the night. At that point I replied to Kyle and said not to bother, I reached out to a friend to help when I hadn't heard from him. Fast forward a few days later when our friend comes to help take the lights down we find that an entire section of lights weren't even properly secured to the soffit. Per our original request they were asked to screw the lights on and we specifically asked them to not use the adhesive, well they used adhesive for 1/3 of the lights and no screws. When the lights came down there was adhesive left all over the underside of our house including some of the light backings! At this point I'm angry, these guys clearly didn't do what was asked, therefore resulting in a botched installation. I then reached out to Kyle to let them know that we found they didn't do the installation properly and that all lights were not secured with screws. Kyle argued multiple times that each light was screwed in despite me sending him several pictures and videos where there is no screw hole but instead leftover adhesive. He offered to come back and remove the adhesive to which I declined because I can't trust him at this point. I asked him instead if he could do a partial refund considering we paid all this money for this install that was done improperly and he refused. He told me that he believes they did quality work and that "he is sorry I feel this way". He never owned up to his mistakes nor gave a sincere apology. The other was a small landscape job where corners were cut and didn't hold up for more than a few weeks."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Sunset Beach, NC

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
