"David Lowrie, Director of Sales at Stone by Design, handled our countertop replacement from beginning to end with skill and professionalism. <br /> I did a lot of research before choosing Stone by Design. I, read reviews on Angies list first.. Their reputation is well deserved.  <br />  I visited Stone by Design after the countertop job was measured by David.The business at 1115 Spartina Drive off Hwy 101 in Beaufort is impressive. David showed us literally hundreds of slabs of granite . I believe that they have nearly 2,000 slabs to view. <br /> The biggest problem we had with David was he tried to sell us a much more pricey piece of granite than he had bidded on.There were not too many slabs that matched our floor/cabinets that was priced according to his bid.He was constantly saying"This is only $1000.00 more or $1500.00 more,etc".He also kept saying "You need to get what you want;this is a one time thing"We felt a little pressured to choose a more expensive slab. <br /> We did set up a date once we chose a slab.David did not contact us to verify.We had to call him each time.The origional date had to be changed once. <br /> David did arrive on time and did an excellent job.We were concerned about a couble of holes in the wall when he ripped out the old countertop,but the backplate covered them.David did forget to load one small piece of backplate but returned the next day to install it.Again we had to call to get a time. <br /> David did make the arrangement with a plumber to hook up the new facet and complete the plumbing job.We dealt directly with the plumber afterwards and had no problems. <br /> We love the new granite countertop.We are happy with the job  from Stone by Design except the communication problem and the attempt to sell us a more expensive granite slab <br />"

"It went well, Rebath did a nice job but I had to organized getting the floor, ceiling and top of the walls done by another company around rebath. Would have had it done by 1 contractor if I had it to do again. <br />"

"They did a real good job.  They did a good job.  They showed up when they were supposed to.  They were real quick to do the quote and everything.  We had a lot of bad weather and it was a little delayed.  It really wasn’t their fault.  They came in, put it in and left everything clean.  They were missing a plumbing part.  The guy came back after he got off work and did it the same day.  Their price was competitive."

"The Holderby Brothers run a good business and they seek long-term relationships with homeowners.  This is a good approach and results in a better understanding of the needs of the client.  In my case, I have had them do "handy" work like handing new lights, installing custom chair rails and wainscoting, as well as larger projects like my Stacked Stone custom wall.  They come out a walk the space, which is a process for homeowner to present vision and needs, budget, etc.  Then they provide a written quote with materials, labor and price.  Be sure to ask for separate quotes if you have them look at multiple projects in same visit.  I liked this approach because I was able to prioritize and budget for each project and then decide which ones to start and when. <br /> They are very low-pressure, and will offer flexibility to allow you to bring your own products or have them procure the materials. One example of this was in doing the concrete backer drywall for my wall.  They recommended that, and the result is a sturdier installation!  The owners are very involved, if they use full-time workers or if the special need is to bring in a sub-contractor.   <br /> They are very comfortable with current technology...you can sign things electronically, get receipts to your email, send photos of your desired look (i used a lot of pinterest photos,,,haha), and have an office staff that is available and responsive. <br /> Overall, great company. <br />"

"We went with quartz countertops from the  Cosmos line.  There are so many choices!   <br />  Artisan Granite stocks many gorgeous granite slabs in the yard. Several really pretty pieces I had not seen before in other stoneyards.  <br /> It was a big decision to choose between granite/quartz. Note that Artisan's prices are very competitive with the area vendors, so the price for the different products wasn't that much of an issue. I always try to buy local, if at all possible, rather than from big box stores that start with the letter "L".  <br /> After much research and agonizing, I decided to go with ordering a quartz countertop.   Linda at Artisan Granite is  very sweet & knowledgable.  She guided me through the process of choosing a sink, ordering, measuring, installation etc.  Their guy came out the next day and measured for the pattern.  The very next week -  it was all done!    <br /> <br />"
