As we were replacing a clay tile roof with asphalt shingles, Eugene & team did a great job covering up some of the tan lines the old tile roof left on our paint. The reason for the quality ding: There was an issue with air flow to the roof we discovered years later and Eugene has been very responsive to help get the roof air flow dialed in appropriately. "From start to finish A Better Roofing company was outstanding. One of the few companies I've spoken to that hasn't exaggerated on work or used scare tactics. They were honest from the beginning with a price around half of the next cheapest bid with the same materials. We had a fair amount of mold and wood rot on our decking so most of the plywood needed replacing. Alan didn't try to make the damage seem worse than it was and gave us a very reasonable estimate on new plywood. One of the guys from a different company was offering to buy me a beer because the mold was "sooo severe" and he was sorry for me. Alan gave us a recommendation on a mold company who actually ended up saying it wasn't too bad. The roof replacement itself was great. The workers were nice, respectful and really fast. I have a friend that used to do roofing that commented on how impressed he was with their attention to detail. The workers cleaned everything up meticulously without leaving any nails, staples or other materials in the lawn. Next time I need a roof, I won't hesitate to call them."

"I purchased the Big Deal for a 2' x 2' roof repair.  I had a blower for a commercial vent hood installed and the original installer did not seal it properly.  I wanted Aaron Carter construction to come fix where it was leaking around the housing.  After inspection, Ray informed me that he would need some different materials and some scaffolding in order to perform the job.  He also let me know that my roof was pitched a little more severely than a normal roof and that would cost extra.  I did read the fine print before purchasing the Big Deal because I know my roof is steep, so I was expecting an additional cost.  They were inundated with calls for the Big Deal apparently, so it was a while before Aaron got back to me to schedule the repair.  He sent me a quote with the additional charges (about $1100 additional after $400 Big Deal credit) and we set up the appointment.  Ray called me to let me know both when he was starting the job and when he was finished.  They did a very thorough job, left the worksite clean and completely fixed the leak so it will never happen again.  I would use them again."

"Hector originally replaced our roof about 5 years ago and did a great job. We have had him back several times since then for several different repairs of issues caused by other contractors and also to clean our built-in gutters and flat roof and two chimneys. Repair issues he took care of included a window leak that required siding and flashing repair, and also some siding and top repairs on one of the chimneys. Hector took great pictures and was able to show in detail what the problems were and explain repair options. His work was excellent - he took the time to do everything properly. He was very responsive when contacted and always showed up on time. He's also friendly and we will definitely contact him again if we have any roofing or other exterior work to do."

"Great communication, responsiveness, fair pricing, punctuality. We had an odd, complicated situation with leaky built in gutters (not the normal tacked on metal ones), with wood damage around the perimeter of the roof. Other companies over bid, refused to bid, or under bid with a lot of room for huge add on costs later. Curtis, DHT's owner, put in the due diligence to properly inspect our roof and gutters and took the time to explain what he found, how DHT would fix it, and offered alternatives. While we knew not all of the damage was visible before tearing off the old roof, Curtis did his best to add in a reasonable estimate of extra materials to the estimate. The crew worked long and hard, including the weekend, to get us taken care of. Curtis continued to check in on us and answer our questions throughout the project, explaining issues with pictures or in person on site. Even though it ended up costing more than we hoped, in the end we were confident we got a very fair price on a job well done."
