"It was a professional experience. The plumber took out all of the existing drains from each side of the sink and replaced everything all the way to the wall. He double checked each fitting for leakage and put it under pressure by filling both sides of the sink. He worked. Early and carefully. I was very pleased with the prompt, professional service."

"

Jim and Brandy arrived at the agreed date and time for the installations, which took about 3 hours.  Jim supplied some of the pipe fixtures and connections and the drain strainer I bought didn't fit so Jim supplied one. The fixtures look great and it is a welcome change to not hear a dripping kitchen faucet.  Jim said to give him a call if anything was not operating to expectation.  We are very happy with how it all turned out.

"We have a very old home that required careful consideration around Heating/AC installation to replace floor furnaces and window units. The house has high ceilings, is not insulated, and is therefore very drafty. Our considerations included cost, efficiency, effectiveness and because the house is so old, aesthetics of the unit as a whole. After several consultations and estimates from various companies, we chose Stuart Services and couldn't be more pleased. Their patience with us as we took our time deciding our best options was remarkable. They made multiple trips to inspect, suggest, review and explain the plan, as well as answer our enormous list of questions. In addition, their financing plan made it able for us to afford such a large expense. The folks in the office were quick, helpful and patient. The installation crew were quick, clean and also patient, as mentioned, we had many questions and concerns and the crew included us in every step of the installation process. The units exceed our expectations, and we would not hesitate to recommend Stuart Services to someone in the market for mini splits."

"I called late on a Friday afternoon after my air went out. They came after hours, installed the new unit, and took the old one for evaluation & possible repair. A year later I called them back for another ac problem (different unit), and they came same day. Whereas another contractor told me to junk the unit, Greg replaced a small part & all was well. While with me the second trip, I mentioned several other small jobs, and they got right on them! The vent hood took a trip into the attic and up onto the roof, but they figured out the problem and solved it. This hood was damaged during Katrina (12 years ago) & Ive had several companies out to look/repair and nobody was able to diagnose problem. Now I have my hood back! Repaired two ceiling fans that I'd been told to junk, repaired a pendant light wired incorrectly by another contractor, and even replaced some light bulbs in my 12-foot ceiling-ed rooms! Excellent service, very fair pricing, good responsiveness, and just all-around nicefolks. I HIGHLY recommend!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Talisheek, LA

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
