"The estimate was done while I had cappucino and played with the 2 Body Shop dogs. Staff was very friendly. Joe came back in and took me out to the car. I was in a state of shock...both dents in the bumper were gone, the light was taped, clamps reattached, hot staples held a small crack, and there was no charge. I didn't want to make a claim on insurance and replace the whole bumper for fairly minor damage. It took me a little while to get over the shock and say thank you. Arnold's is a 3 generation business which recently built a new building. The only thing he wanted in return for no charge was word of mouth info. Personal attention, old time values, modern equipment, seasoned body shop personnel, etc....everything that fits together to make a superior body shop. I petted the dogs goodbye before leaving in my near to perfect car. Arnold's Body Shop is the place to go first for collision repair as well as detailing and other bodywork. Remember, dents in plastic bumpers can often be removed without removing the whole bumper. <br />"

"<p>Somehow my laptop corrupted the operating system and would not even boot up. Alexander Technical Resources (Spencer) came to my house to try to repair my computer. We decided that my computer needed to go to their repair facility for some serious work. They were able to save all my data, ran thorough diagnostics and repaired my computer. It was such a relief that I did not loose and data.</p> <p>This is the second time I have used them. The first was to set up this very laptop and transfer all the data from my old PC.</p> <p>I would recommend Alexander Technical Resources and will use them for any other computer repairs. </p> <p><br /></p> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"He did a great job with the panel and then did a great job of cleaning up.  Most of the time when I have someone to come in my home to work, I end up cleaning up a great big mess.  Additionally, he installed an outlet and repaired another one.  I am very satisfied with the work that was done. <br />"

"After having power go out on a Sunday, Rylee from H.A. Electric called me first thing the following morning and was over to the home within an hour. She determined right away many issues with my service panel and recommended a replacement. I know that she had a few other jobs that she and her crew were doing that day but was able to squeeze my job into their schedule which was awesome as I really didn't want to stay another night in a hotel. She made me a list of everything that I needed and by the time I got to the supply store to purchase, she had pulled everything needed for the job and had it waiting for me to purchase. Very cool. FYI - she did offer to buy for me and add the material cost to the job total but I needed to return a bunch of stuff at that store so it made sense for me to buy them. I found her to be very honest and reasonable with her quote and even though the job entailed a little more work than anticipated, she kept to her original quoted price. Other providers would have most definitely charged me more. This is a top notch company and I plan on having them come back to do some more work on my older home's wiring. Highly recommended. Hire with confidence. A+"

"They replaced my aluminum siding with vinyl, did a complete tear off of roof and new asphalt roof. New double hung windows throughout, and all new gutters and downspouts.   Salesperson was punctual, friendly, well informed and worked well with what  we wanted.  Their prices were fair and they beat the other 3 estimates we received.  The work started in December and took longer due to the weather. We are happy with the work and the quality.  The only thing we were not so happy with was the clean up. Large pieces were taken away but we cleaned up a large amount of nails and are still finding them occasionally.  In fairness to Iossi, we did not ask a second time to get the yard cleaned up and shouldn't have had to anyway.   We just cleaned it up ourselves in order to not have to wait. We would use them again. <br />"

"Received a quote from this auto repair shop to replace spark plugs on my 2006 Subaru Tribeca B9 which is a complex job to replace the plugs, The shop quoted me 3 hrs labor to complete the work and i provided the spark plugs. When I arrived to pick up the car, i was advised that it took a little less than 3 hours, charging me less and without asking, left my old plugs in the car for me to see! I was really impressed with the honesty of this repair shop and their attention to servicing the customer. <br /> While paying the bill, i asked MC to look into providing a temporary spare tire for my SUV. They researched it and came back advising me that the cost of a spare was very expensive and had I considered a used spare from a salvage yard? I had investigated this but with no luck, MC contacted their network and came up with a spare at fraction of the price. I was concerned with the quality of a used tire and wheel, and they indicated they would get the spare and if I didn't like it, no worries. <br /> I have been truly blown away with this repair shop who was referred to me by an acquaintance who had a similar experience. Honesty and integrity is a hard thing to find in the auto repair shop world with many shops extracting every penny from unnecessary work or overcharging. <br /> I plan to take all my automobiles for servicing to M.C. Auto who have earned my business. <br />"

FAQs for generator repair projects in Teeds-grove, IA

There is often some confusion about the type of work these professionals do. They only work on electrical systems such as outlets, lighting fixtures and electrical panels – they aren’t appliance repairmen.

There are three types of electricians: Master, Journeyman and Apprentice. Electrical licensing varies quite a bit by state. Some have licenses for apprentices and some do not. Some have a master’s rank while others stop at journeyman. Despite the differences, they all require a minimum amount of experience and usually classroom time.

  • Apprentice electricians aren’t usually licensed and spend 4 years learning the trade. Throughout that time, they work on a wide range of projects to learn to become a Journeyman. They’ll do basic work like installing fixtures and replacing outlets all the way to assisting in wiring a home. Regardless of the type of project, they must always be supervised by a Journeyman or Master electrician.

  • Journeymen work without supervision. In a few states, this is the highest level available and they can do all levels of work from wiring a new home to installing a light. In some states, they need a separate electrical contractor license to run a business. In places with a master’s level, a journeyman can do all work besides design new electrical systems.

  • Master electricians usually manage a shop, design new electrical systems in new construction and oversee both Journeyman and Apprentices. They typically bid new projects. Though they focus on larger projects, it’s not unheard of for a homeowner to request a Master Electrician for a house call. If you do, expect to spend up to 25% more for the visit.

Generally, you don’t tip electricians, but that’s not to say they don’t appreciate it if you do. You can offer them something to drink or eat, like coffee and donuts. Most will appreciate it if you do.

The education and certifications required to become an electrician vary by state, though they generally follow this list:

  1. Apprentice

    • Does not always require a license depending on the state.

    • Learns on the job under Journeyman and Master Electricians.

    • Usually needs 4 years on-the-job training before they can test for a Journeyman license. Many states also require a technical degree to advance.

    • Always require supervision.

  2. Journeyman

    • Needs between 8,000 to 10,000 hours of on-the-job training and usually 500 to 1,000 hours of classroom experience.

    • Can usually supervise apprentices.

    • They can diagnose and repair electrical problems.

  3. Master

    • Achieved after an additional two years (4,000 hours) working as a Journeyman and taking the Master Electrician Exam.

    • Besides diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, they also design them. In most places they run shops and inspect Journeyman and Apprentice work.

    • Not a recognized rank in all states.

  4. Electrical Contractor License is an optional license in some states for a Master Electrician to run a business. Some states have this instead of the Master license.

Electricians make an average of $26 per hour but it ranges with experience and licensing. An apprentice may make about half that while a Master Electrician may hit closer to $40 per hour. This figure represents how much they make; not how much they bill. Their salary is only one component of their costs. They must also figure in overhead, taxes, equipment, insurance and several other expenses.

Leave electrical work to the professionals. Electrical systems are complex and potentially hazardous when not handled and installed correctly. If it were easy, it wouldn’t take 4 years to become a journeyman or 6 years for a master’s license. If you are determined to forge ahead yourself, understand home electrical safety before beginning any project.Even for simple common electrical projects, a licensed pro is best. Not only is it safer, but contractors guarantee and insure their work. Hire a professional to keep your home’s electrical systems functioning properly and safely.
