"William and the Road Co crew saved the day. I had another contractor string me along for months. I found Road Co and instantly got a response. I was told they were very busy but would get me on the schedule. As promised they came on the scheduled day 1.5 hours ahead of schedule. Everything went as planed with two coats of seal and chip. They even back filled the rock I had moved the night before. GREAT JOB AND WILL HIRE THEM IN THE FUTURE. THANKS GUY'S"

Small jobs welcome

"James and his team were outstanding to work with. They went above and beyond in their efforts to make sure I was completely satisfied with the final product. They even made recommendations to improve the project, at no additional cost. I made small changes along the way while the work was in progress and the answer was always - yes sir and no problem. I highly recommend James Bishop paving for your surface paving needs."

"We had already been quoted by several other asphalt companies when D&D approached us. Their price was better and they were ready to do the work. They were clean cut, well spoken, polite and courteous. They answered all of our questions and concerns. The work was completed quickly and professionally."

"My driveway has a flat section at the top and a steep narrow section going to the road.  The flat part came out very well and is a big improvement.  Aaron Williams was upfront about the possibility that the steep section would be difficult to work with.  The chip seal did not take very well and the loose gravel is a problem.  We ended up sweeping the loose gravel to the side in order not to slip when driving.  It looks much better than it did but this was not the result we had hoped for.  My driveway is 40 years old which is part of the problem."

"I’d give them 10 stars if I could. These guys are top notch. Family owned and operated. Show up not on time, but early. Keep you involved and apprised the whole time. Polite, respectful and cheerful on a job that’s absolutely miserable on a good day, but more so in the heat we had this summer. Did more than they quoted for because it was the right way to do the job. I had dealt recently with several other road contractors that came well recommended that turned out to be disappointments. These folks made up for every poor experience I’ve had with contractors. I just wish I had more work to let them do. I have recommended them to every nearby ranch that I even suspect needs road work done. They’re that good."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Temple, TX

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
