"They turned out absolutely beautiful!!! I love working with him and he’s the only one I would hire. He does what he says he’s going to do and he treats your home like his home. You won’t be disappointed if you hire him."

"Their price and quality are great. Excellent service. I got memory foam padding. They have very high quality carpet, twice as good as an area competitor. The workers they contracted for the installation actually stayed and worked until midnight one night. They were amazing. They were very accommodating and did a spectacular job. They really looked out for my bottom line and the carpeting is gorgeous."

"Not well. The installer did not show up on days we were told he would be there. We had no access to our kitchen for breakfast after our sunrise service & we never got even a apology for them not completing the job!! <br />"

"Kring's is part of homeowners' insurance company approved network of carpet damage claim assessors. Flooded carpet area was measured and a carpet sample sent to a laboratory to assess original carpet quality and perhaps damage to backing. Kring's representative was personable and seemed knowledgeable about flood damage remediation and insurance claim protocols, so it was very easy to utilize them for the carpet replacement and install. Carpet was ordered while there was considerable time for other work to be completed. It was on hand when installation time came, which was quickly scheduled and went well. <br />"

"I like the product the best. I was a little disappointed in the time it took to get the product in. We actually got some wood flooring and carpeting both. I laid the wood floor myself and then they had a guy come in and lay the transition pieces because they were all back ordered. They ordered through a supplier, so it was their fault that it got in late. He had his crew put the transition pieces in and I was not satisfied with that part. They carpet is great, but I was not happy with the wood floor work they did. The price was good. I would use them again for carpeting but I would not use them again for wood flooring."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Topeka, KS

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
