"Thought I needed a new throat damper since it would not stay closed. Technician found it was not broken and did not need repair, just lubrication. They use top dampers and do not replace throat dampers, but I would have explored the replacement if necessary. Also got price for refractory panel replacement, which I will need in the future. Technician was prompt, courteous and honest about the needed repairs. I do not need the panel replacement right away since the cracks were small and the fireplace is used very little. I repaired with masonry cement for the short term, but I will call them when needed for the repair. The estimate was not the cheapest. I had it looked at earlier in the year with a chimney cleaning, but honesty sometimes means more than price. I will use them in the future for any cleaning or repair work."

"Capitol came out on time, and a nice gentleman named Abraham and a helper came out to give an estimate for the work. He spent about 45 minutes looking around, and to my surprise, issued a bid on the spot. The bid was reasonable and actually included a full rebuild of one chimney from scratch, including building a firebox. I was really tempted because the two other bids I received wanted to sell me a prebuilt firebox at considerable cost (almost nobody hand-builds fireboxes anymore, it seems), and I liked the idea of getting a brand new chimney as I had lots of brick damage from years of thermal cycling. However, the risk is much higher in buying this type of work because your chimney performance is completely tied to the company's ability to properly design a replacement chimney and build it properly in all its details. So, I asked for a portfolio to see their rebuild work--i.e., not repairs, but work where they had fully rebuilt chimneys, They sent a few jobs with perhaps a couple of "after" photos each, which did not engender confidence that they were proud of their work. I would think a big chimney rebuild should have had all kinds of process photos, pictures of the firebox, etc. So, I asked for two references who had rebuilds done who could vouch for the work, and that was the last I heard from this company over a week ago. So, I'm not entirely confident that their full rebuild customers are happy, given I haven't seen a single review on this website for a large job like mine. As tempted as I am to take their reasonable offer, I am not entirely sure they can do a full rebuild I would be happy with. Not having a portfolio and no references is not a good sign."

"They were fabulous, They kept me informed when there was a delay getting parts, then did a professional job of installation. They were careful to keep the house clean throughout a messy job and left everything spotless upon completion. I talked with several other so-called fireplace repair companies and there was no comparison in the level of ability, knowledge, consumer care and professionalism I experienced with All Pro Chimney."

"The company came out within a few days of my call. Mark T inspected and cleaned the chimney (which wasn't that dirty, as it turned out), and took pictures of the metal stack and the exterior of the fireplace stack. They recommended replacing the 4 refractory panels for approximately $1800. They pointed out warping on the metal stack, which he said might not be an immediate problem but would need to be addressed at some point as it would just continue to get worse. He also said that the chase cover at the top, exterior of the fireplace stack should be replaced. I got a second and third opinion. Both those providers said that the refractory panels are cosmetic only since the entire firebox is metal, and that the price would probably be about $400, not $1800. They also looked at the photos provided by Complete Chimney, and said that the 'warping' that Mark T pointed out was not warping...just normal coloration of the stack and not an issue. They said the chase cover was rusting, but not falling apart and was not any kind of safety hazard. while this company did the initial cleaning I requested, I feel like they were trying to push me to see problems where none existed in the hope that I would have them install a new gas fireplace."

"I had gotten several quotes for a new roof and Home Wise Pros was well in line with pricing. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Honest explanations on services to be performed, issues that might arise, and timeframe to complete the job. A print quote by email! (Some companies had me waiting a week with many excuses) On the day of my roof installation workers (including Jay, the owner) were at my house ON TIME (7am!)! We all scooted out so they could get to work. Throughout the day Jay was sending me images of any rotten wood that was discovered or any issues that arouse. The day was long and all rotten wood was replaced, all issues resolved, they worked late to get the roof done! It was beautiful!! Two days later (due to threats of rain) they were back! On a Saturday! to do the gutters! For the 17 years that I have lived here I have had a waterfall over my front door anytime we got heavy rain …. My new big gutters have solved that problem! (Please note I had gutters installed about 10 yrs ago, and the issue remained and I was told there was no remedy for the gushing gutter over my front door!) "Contacted Roof Right on a Tuesday about shingles blown up from the wind, they set me up with an appointment the next day with John Watkins to come out for a free estimate. John came on time and performed the free estimate. After reviewing the estimate and John stating that he could go ahead and fix it right now; I happily agreed and John was able to nail and glue our shingles back down before the pending rain storm. Very pleased with the service by John and Roof Right and will be calling on them again with any other roofing related jobs."
