"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Wonderful! He answered his phone on Sunday to take my call which impressed me. He asked several questions right there to kind of diagnose the problem in his mind and then we made a appointment for service. He arrived on time and went straight to work while answering any questions I had and telling me which brands he thought were more reliable if we ever needed to replace our unit. He replaced the electronic control board which he had on his truck and is the most expensive thing to replace I think and has checked on me a couple times to make sure everything is working fine because I was thinking the frig wasn't cold enough. He guarantees his work, is very efficient, very professional, and has a sense of humor and good personality to boot."

"Very well.  Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"I was totally impressed with the professionalism and integrity displayed by the owner of this business. He came in, quickly assessed the situation on both the washer and dishwasher, rapidly fixed both issues, and then spent some time educating me about how to care for the machines, and what to watch for that might indicate a need for a more complicated and costly repair. He was obviously looking out for my expenses, which is so admirable! He stated that he would do the more economically advantageous repair first, and then if it became necessary, I would call him and he would then wave the initial house call fee and charge me only for the parts, shipping, and labor of the repair itself. I am impressed with his knowledge, and his desire to pass along some general understanding of the reason the machines were malfunctioning, and what it might take to make them operate at their best. I absolutely would call again in a heartbeat. And, to top it all off, the price for his visit was far below what I feared it might be. He fixed both machines for a total of $123.00, which includes the $65.00 fee for coming out to the job site. Phenomenal! And my appliances are working again! <br />"

"I have Rescue Link's Single PC Pack which is an extended warranty for my laptop and also has unlimited tech support.  I use the tech support every month to run a PC tune up and it doesn't cost me any sort of fee or deductible beyond what my monthly charge is.  My laptop is three years old and I purchased this warranty earlier this year.  I recently spilled a soda on my laptop and called to file a claim.  This warranty covers accidental damage for laptops and tablets so I was able to call to file a claim.  They answered the phone and asked a few questions like: what is the serial number of the laptop, what operating system do you use and about how much did you pay for the laptop.  After answering these questions, they told me that my claim was approved and that I would receive a postage paid box within two business days.  I received the box with the materials required to safely ship my laptop.  It was actually kind of funny because they even provided a premeasured length of tape to close the box.  I filled out the paper asking for my password (so that they can get into the computer to make sure that the repairs were completed) and took the box to the UPS drop off site.  Two days later I got a call stating that they received the box and would start repairs.  Three days after that, they called me and told me that they had everything except the keyboard fixed and were just waiting on the new keyboard.  Two days later, I was told that they had the keyboard and would be shipping me my repaired computer and I should receive it in two to three business days.  All said, it only took seven days from the time that they received my computer for me to get it back.  They even cleaned it.  I am very happy with this service. <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Traverse City, MI

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
