"Straight Forward was one of the many fencing companies that my boyfriend and I had come out to give us an estimate when we were looking to get a new fence. Our whole experience with Straight Forward was remarkable, from start to finish. The owner, Gary was so personal, in comparison to the other companies we had come out. Before we even received a quote back, we knew we wanted to hire his company, regardless of the price (which ended up being very reasonable and awesome anyways). It seemed that he knew what he was doing and he was even informative to us And let us know the process of what his crew would be doing. Once the polite and respectful workers began to work, they were done within less than two days. Keep in mind how impressive this is due to the fact that we had two gates installed, a front fence on both sides of our house, and the remaining perimeter of our decent sized backyard. Once the fence was finished being installed, the workers had cleaned up all of the trash and it was like they had never been there! Except for the fact that we now have a beautiful, new fence to adore. We would hire Straight Forward again in a heart beat and would recommend them to anyone looking for a job well done!"

"I had a rather complicated project that involved the removal of an old prefab sun room sitting on top of a large 13x11' wrought iron elevated deck. The work involved demolition of part of the old deck with re-design of the remaining (deck) into a smaller one + installation of a new second-floor fire escape. These guys made it look easy and completed the project ON TIME & AS PROMISED. During and after the project I quickly learned that I had hired the right team. I called numerous iron-workers and a few showed up (others went running). Boris arrived to carefully size up the work. He took measurements, photos and assessed the tasks involved and then forwarded a detailed quote. - That alone meant a lot because all others just scribbled an email with number$ while still others mouthed off a dollar amount with few details and without ever taking measurements (weird). So I hired these guys and just a few days later the team arrived to start the process and the great things I saw immediately and overall were as follows: 1) They work as a team, 2) They had a clear plan of how to break this complex project into a path to completion, 3) They came equipped for surprises - because even the most exact measurements can be off by a half inch - They were ready to fabricate and adjust ON-SITE - and that's what they did - There was no stopping them! When they encountered a problem, they applied creative vision, whipped out the chopper, welder, (whatever) and made it happen - It was really AMAZING! Never once did they need to leave for a tool or extra material. The entire project took just FOUR visits....that alone is incredible for the work involved. In the end, as you can see from the photo, I ended up with exactly what I had asked for... And the material they use is SOLID --- not some hollow junk. That small deck could probably hold up the house! And the fire escape is not going anywhere! To summarize - If you need wrought iron work carefully consider what's involved. In my opinion that is a firm that: 1) actually comes out to see the work beforehand, arrives to take measurements and pictures and gives a detailed proposal at a fair price, 2) CAN FABRICATE ON-SITE -- this is so important, otherwise if something is off or needs to be modified, they'll be gone for weeks! I would highly recommend giving Boris a call for any project, of any size. He and his team will make it happen!"

"After a few setbacks Ryan came and installed my shadowbow fence. He and his partenr did an excellent job in a timely manner. When I first contacted him I had a few others in mind and it came down to him and another company. I told him what the other company offered to do it for and he was willing to do the job at the same price. He was courteous friendly and answered all my calls and texts I sent him and was patient with me as I need certain details addressed . In the end he also replaced a small section I was going to call him back to do at another time. Not only did he do it but also included it in the original price. Thanks Ryan!"

"I hired Jim to do some maintenance work on my roof which is old and in need of repair.  It's a compound roof with areas of slate, copper, and old tin.  All these areas have leaked in the recent past, and will eventually need to be replaced.  Jim knows how to work with all these materials and found the sources for leaks that others have missed.  He seems to understand how old roofs are built.  We will be talking about a larger roof project in the spring.  In one place I needed some custom molding and carpentry to repair storm damage and I was pleasantly surprised at how well Jim did this work.  He got the custom milling done for less than I could have myself.

Jim and I are also talking about other work including carpentry, painting, drywall and bathroom remodeling.  Though the work Jim has done for me so far has been mainly roof repair and handyman type small jobs, I am convinced he is a good general builder and I intend to use him again as such.  I've already recommended him to my next door neighbor."

FAQs for wrought iron fence installation projects in Trenton, NJ

Galvanizing is the best way to keep rain from eating away at your wrought iron fence. The process coats each bar in a thin layer of zinc, sealing out moisture and blocking rust. Most panels come pre-galvanized, but you’ll still want to wash and repaint every few years to keep that shield intact.

Skipping galvanization may save a few dollars up front, yet you’ll spend far more later repairing corrosion or replacing sections outright.

Expect to pay more for wrought iron than for wood at the outset, but iron wins the long game. A standard wood fence runs $1,700 to $3,900, yet you’ll sand, stain, and eventually replace it. Wrought iron may double that initial tab, but it can last 50 to 100 years with a quick paint job every few seasons. Factor in fewer repairs and less upkeep, and iron often edges out wood on lifetime cost.

Hiring a pro to paint wrought iron runs $8 to $10 per linear foot, a price that covers careful prep, rust removal, and high-grade paint for long-term protection. DIY-ers can trim that labor bill, but you’ll need quality brushes, rust-inhibiting primer, and time to apply multiple thin coats. Skimp on prep or materials, and the finish will peel sooner, forcing you back to square one.

A well-maintained wrought iron fence easily lasts 50 to 100 years. Plan to wash it annually and sand-and-repaint every two to three years to keep rust from gaining a foothold. If you spot flakes or pitting early, touch-up paint stops corrosion in its tracks. When in doubt, a local fence pro can walk you through a maintenance schedule tailored to your climate.

Homeowners choose wrought iron fencing because it delivers exceptional security and a timeless aesthetic. This fence offers robust protection that deters intruders while providing a classic look that elevates property curb appeal.

Its construction from high-grade materials ensures lasting durability and reduces maintenance needs. The design also enhances home value and offers consistent strength and elegance.

Wrought iron fencing is available exclusively through certified local fence installation companies and reputable specialized suppliers. This source guarantees high-quality materials and professional installation that adhere to strict performance standards.

Homeowners will find that these trusted providers deliver materials backed by quality control and expert support, ensuring an investment that meets both durability and aesthetic expectations.
