"We called Our Plumber out to our home because of a drain backing up. Kathy answered the phone and was very friendly and new what was going on. The plumber arrived on time and explained how they give a price before starting work. The price was pretty good so we told him to go ahead with the work. He was at my home longer than he expected, but it was because of us not having a clean out for his drain cleaning machine. That being said, he never raised the price. He cleared the main line going out to my septic tank. I would use them again and recommend them to our friends."

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"I own some rental property and have been in need of finding a good professional plumber, so I called Kinchen's Plumbing Service and spoke with Troy (Owner/Plumber) and met up with him and within 20 minutes he knew what the problem was, some how one of the members living there had put a rag down the drain pipe. He flushed my pipes out and pulled the problem out as well. I have used him a few other times on my other properties. He does great work and he is the only plumber I will be using."

"Once we finally found a date that fit into both of our schedules, I had to call him at 5:00am, just hours before he was to be at my house, to cancel due to the birth of my grandson. He took the news very well, congratulating me and telling me not to worry about the short notice. He showed up right on time on the rescheduled date. <br /> Once he removed the old door, he found that the brick on the house had been added, which I did not know, and he had to correct to correct the opening in order to be able to install the new door jamb. He did an excellent job and both doors looked better than I had expected. He didn't charge me any extra for the extra work he had to do to the house because of the siding. He came back the next day to install the trim around the door and showed up when he said he would. He noticed that I had an opening to the crawl space under my house and cut the old door to fit into the space and cleaned up after himself. I am very pleased with the way the doors look and work. <br /> I have already asked him to quote on a couple of other jobs around my house. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Trenton, TN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
