"Wayne from FDS Installers Inc is the best! We are so happy with the work he did for us. He installed Pergo in five rooms, porcelain tile on the bathroom floor, installed new toilet, vanity, kitchen sink and appliances, on time and on budget. There was not one thing we asked for that he didn't take care of for us and above and beyond. If you need work done in your home, FDS Installers is definitely the company to call! Thank you, Wayne, for an excellent job done."

"We noticed a slight leak around the base of the main-bath toilet, so we called a few plumbers. Aqua was the only one that had a live person answer the phone. Megan from Aqua took down the information on our plumbing issue and indicated a plumber could come out first thing the next morning. Tyler, the plumber from Aqua, called us first thing that morning to say he was on his way. He arrived shortly after with his assistant, and he replaced the toilet wax wing with two rings. We also asked him to check the slow-draining sink in the main bath, which he snaked. He then made sure both the toilet and sink drain were working well. Megan from the office left a voicemail the other morning to check on things. The job went well from Megan's scheduling and "after-care" call to Tyler's work."

"Hired Dream Bath for a tub to shower conversion at my parents house. Steve was wonderful to work with. At the showroom, he explained the options and answered all our questions - no pushy sales pitch, just super informative and helpful. The install team was great and definitely know there stuff. My parents are thrilled with the end result, both for the look and the functionality. Would highly recommend."

"Can't say enough good things about iKitchens - they were fantastic!! We already had an IKEA kitchen design, but they reviewed the design and made some very helpful suggestions. They were great at explaining the process and what to expect. Once the work started, every single workman was very professional and did very high quality work. Everything was on time or ahead of the schedule. They were happy to answer questions and very willing to make a few minor adjustments along the way. The end result is better than we ever dreamed!! We totally recommend iKitchens!!!!!!!!"

"<br>The furnace was installed in November of 2013, at which time I paid the invoice in full, and seems to be working properly, however the company contacted me and said that the permit they pulled through the town had not been closed. They never scheduled an inspection. I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment immediately and it needed to be done. When I asked why this wasn't done at the time of installation the secretary simply said that it wasn't her fault but if it wasn't done I wouldn't be able to ever sell my home because the work was never inspected. I was also informed by the town inspectors office that if there was a problem or accident/malfunction that my homeowners insurance would not cover it. I was shocked and surprised and when I started asking questions she hung up on me. I called back and explains that I was the woman she had just hung up on and she said it that it wasn't her that it was the owner that hung up on me and they hung up on me again. I trusted this man in good faith and paid him for the job he did believing that he followed all the procedures necessary to complete the work he promised. All I was looking for was an explanation, some sort of an apology and he hung up on me. I am concerned about his business practice. My family's safety is of the utmost importance to me and he disregarded that completely. He needs to conscious of his actions to his customers. What a shame that someone would not stand behind their work, their name, and not own up to their mistakes. I am a reasonable person and I understand that things are overlooked and missed, we are all human, however, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity when doing business with anyone. He owes me an explanation and an apology. I would never trust anyone who can't owner their own responsibility to their customers. Shame on you Mr Barrett."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Truro, MA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
