"We researched possible stone fabricators on Angi - SCS Tile was listed. They called us and mentioned that they were open all day on Saturday, so we went down. They had a remnant that would work well for our small project. The price was competitive. The service was excellent. We started and finished our project in 4 days. And, their team that measured and installed are excellent."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"This is my worst experience I ever had with ANTECH company in Tucson. On March 12 2018 Gary Bobell from ANTECH came to my house to give me the estimate for raising the masonry wall on my backyard. I went to my backyard with ANTECH consultant to explain and show what needs to be done. I asked to give me the estimate to raise the entire existing wall by 1 course , and to raise whole back wall and sideline walls to the first expansion joints by 2 courses including one H block. I pointed out more than two times how important it is to me to raise the back and side walls as high as we can. He told me that we can rase the wall no more than 2 blocks. I signed the proposal because I did not expected that your interpretation would be different than mine. On the project day two workers and consultant came to my house. They started to tear out blocks from the first top row on the existing wall. My husband asked them what are they going to do, than he learned that they will race only the back wall by 2 courses and sides of the wall by one course. Gary told my husband that if he would like to race side walls by 2 courses than he needs to pay more ( he calculated the price very quickly $1100) this was too much for us to pay at this moment. My husband asked them to leave because he did want to have just part of the project to be done. They destroyed part of my wall and left. Gary said it will cost us $200 to cancel this job. The proposal is not specific. I do not see any specific length for the wall. We pay $830 deposit. I called the company five or more times in the last two weeks. Every time I would call they would never resolve the problem. Each time they tell me that someone will call me back, not once has someone called me back. I would like my money back. I spoke with Sara, Paula, and Jacqueline. Jacqueline told me that I can get $400 back instead $830 because of labor and materials. I never seen any materials for my project on my property. Also, on the project day two workers came for about 30-40 minutes."

"We paid $600 for a design to relocate our BBQ and outdoor kitchen on 29 Aug 2020. Various contacts were made between August and December but they did not complete a design because they said they were too busy. They finally provided a basic sketch on 9 December that had no detail or specifics. I tried to get an appointment to meet but they said they were too busy until after the holidays. We finally got an appointment to meet on 6 Jan 2021. The meeting lasted 20 minutes and the designer was of no help. He said he was busy but would try to work up a proposal soon. We spent $600 and received basically a non dimensional drawing. We found another company who completed the site review, drawings, equipment specification and contractor review in one week. Construction starts on Monday, 25th January with the new company. I contacted the Garden Gate letting them know we were going someplace else. I received no response. They simply did not care about this project. We are spending almost $25K on the project so felt it would have been somewhat important. I was hoping the owner would at least ask how they could have done better, but they had no interest apparently. I lost $600 but made the right decision to go with another company."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Tucson, AZ

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
