"Arrived on time. Professional and respectful technicians. On first day, they detected the circuit breaker that failed due to sticking and age (the house is 39 years old) and got the electricity back on. They gave me a proposal to replace all circuit breakers other than the main breaker. When there was a question on the proposal, customer service responded immediately and we came to equitable solution. Work was done exceptionally well the next day by a technician, who sent texts to keep me apprised of his ETA and ensured that all electricity in home was operational."

"Matt and Vince were absolutely amazing. Initial quote discussion was incredibly helpful, talked through all the options, listened to my ridiculous ideas and told me why they wouldn't work but how to achieve what we were trying to do another way. We decided to go with Trout specially because the two of them were happy to help and educate, and get us the work we wanted, within budget, while setting us up for the future more expensive work. Matt and Vince both came promptly, worked hard and gave us updates throughout the day. They made sure the work was done exactly as we wanted, everything was cleaned up afterwards, and all was explained. We will definitely recommend Trout Electric, and specifically Matt and Vince, to anyone who needs any work done."

"I use Meek Electrical on all my HVAC jobs, from running new electrical to mini-split air-conditioners installed, to relocating power for customers that relocated outdoor units to new locations per remodel, changing outdated breakers with new, you name it. Owner Joe has many years of experience working on commercial and residential, very clean work & always a phone call away. "

"After a fire was in our garage H and K Electric came out to the house to rewire and do a panel upgrade and run wire underground for our pool. They were professional and got the job done in a timely manner. Would for sure hire again and recommend to anyone looking for electrical work. "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Twin Peaks, CA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
