"Excellent experience with Bruce and his project installers. Through Love My Floors and Bruce, we were able to upgrade the carpet, padding, and flooring and we are extremely satisfied and pleased with their work. Completed the work in less than 1 day for 1300 total sq. ft. Quality of products and install is second to none. Thanks so much to Love My Floors for a superb job!"

"Great!  We were still living out of state when we picked out the carpet, and had to schedule the installation remotely with the help of a 'house caretaker' to get it ready before we moved.  Mr. Hight was able to come out and measure the week we were in town, and he ordered the carpet to be installed after the interior painting was done.  Once he was contacted by our caretakers, he scheduled the installation and it was done expertly.  It is beautiful carpet and they did a great job.  He did not bill our credit card until after the installation was complete and we had seen it to okay the job.  The price was more than we had anticipated, but the job was very high quality and we are very pleased with the results.  We whole-heartedly recommend Floors by Sterling Hight! <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"They do very good work. The only issues I had were with responsiveness and follow through. I had them remove a bathtub and install a shower and they didn't plane the shower at enough of a decline so now the water stands in the shower and doesn't drain properly. I wanted them to come back to fix that as well as to lower the curtain rods and that never ended up happening. I was willing to pay them to come back and they assured me they would come, and just kept putting me off so I had to hire someone else to come do it. It was really disappointed because they did good work and I really liked Rickey, the owner, but they just never followed through with their promises,"

"Mr. Thomas and his 4 man team were great prompt all the time. They would start at 8am then end by 5pm. During the first day they rip off the carpet and prepare the floor by making it smooth. On the second day they install the bamboo until the third day. On the fourth day they cleaned up. I am satisfied with their work. All of them friendly and courteous. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Tybee Island, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
