"<br /> It was a very pleasant experience, from start to finish!  The workers arrived on time and had installed the flooring before day's end.  We plan to have the same flooring (vinyl wood-look plank flooring) installed in another room in our house in the spring.  We couldn't be happier with the product or the service! <br />"

"I have 3 dogs and Russell the owner scotch-guarded the carpet at no additional charge. They were professional and extremely knowledgeable.I was not there at the house during the service which took the better part of the day as we had not moved into the new house yet. They left everything clean and they even put on shoe covers over their shoes whenever they came into the house. Russell even gave some shoe covers for my movers to use since it was going to be rainy on move-in day."

"One guy was nice and easy to work with. They didn't take care to watch where they were stepping or where materials were going. I had to ask them at one point to put something down to protect  my carpets. I didn't think they did a good job with the grout. It was darker in some places and lighter in others. They messed up some of the quarter round in my bathroom as well."

"so much dust.  After a very bad experience with Home Depot and Cooper Flooring, we were forced to look for another company to install our prebought laminate flooring.  We had originally gotten a quote and had paid for services to be completed through Home Depot, but when their people came out (Cooper Flooring), there were further problems found that caused their initial price to almost double.  So we went looking for someone else.  We were referred to Jason Arbuckle who owns Creative Carpet and Flooring Installation.  He came out that afternoon and took measurements and provided an estimate within 2 days.  The estimate was $1450.  This was more in line with what we were looking at.  He stated there would be no problem with leveling the areas of the floor that needed it.  Unlike the other people who were stating that they were going to have to grind the floor down and this would cause too much dust.  <br /> Jason came in and was very professional!!!  We accepted his proposal and he did advise us that he was completing another job, but would be able to start ours within a week of the estimate.  He advised us that he would not have to do all the grinding that the other company said that they would have to do.  He started the job on 26 Jun 2013.  When I came home from work in the afternoon, Jason, his assistant, and his son were working away.  There was VERY little mess.  I was impressed with how meticulous they were in making sure that everything was put down correctly and neatly.  The entire job took approximately 2 1/2 days and the house looks like a brand new house.  Jason made sure to let us know of areas that were not quite dry and to avoid them for just a few areas.  He was fast, neat, and absolutely amazing at what he did.  He did such a great job, we are already going to have him do our kitchen / laundry room area and got an estimate on our sewing room.  I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for quality work to be done on their flooring or carpet install!!!! <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Tyler, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
