"First of all, one cannot expect a repair service company to know everything about all makes and models. I did some research on my own and could have spent $600 on parts alone along with the aggravation of the labor. Jim the Service Tech did the analysis and identified the faulty part pretty quickly. Parts were available in the truck and a replacement control board was installed within an hour or so. A fuse had blown on the old control board that kept it from operating. These fuses are soldered to the board. This could have just blown, or it could be from the door being closed too hard too often. We'll be careful from now on for sure! Note: The Techs at Home Systems cover their shoes when entering your home. I was surprised to notice that all tools, cases and parts etc.. were placed on padded mats on the floor to avoid scratches or scuffs. Even on my builder grade 15 year old vinyl floor. This detail was not needed on my old floor but appreciated! I didn't expect Jim to hang out for several hours to wait for a cycle to complete. The washer was filled with a few items then ran that evening. Minor issues occurred. Still not completing. Jim came back and checked his work. Please remember my opening sentence. More research had to be done and third visit was needed to add a part to the control board. After this, our three year old Kenmore dishwasher was happy! All in all we are very happy with Home Systems Appliance Repair. Aside from clean and careful, the Techs are professional and friendly. Issues are explained in understandable terms. The extra visits were no charge. I've been in a service position and appreciated the genuine desire to fix the issue as quickly as possible. Minor complications happen, but it was made right. "Great experience. Harmond W diagnosed the issue within the first 10 minutes of our interactive video session. He immediately followed up with the part number of the part which had likely failed and a link to Sears PartsDirect to order the part. After our session I removed the wall oven from the kitchen cabinet enclosure, found the suspected part, and confirmed it had indeed failed (as we had discussed during our session. I just ordered the part, and will plan to complete the oven repair when it arrives in a week or so. I'll definitely plan to use this Neli service again when needed."

"Based upon a misdiagnosis from another company, having my refrigerator 'down' for about a month was a big inconvenience! Having talked to Mr. Appliance of Howard County's customer service, shortly thereafter, the owner of the company gave me a call personally to tell me why he felt likely I had been given a misdiagnosis to correct my problem. He gave me four other possible reasons to correct my issue and felt a service call to re-diagnose was what really was needed. The technician that was sent out gave a correct diagnosis, and shortly thereafter when the part was received another appointment was made to install the correct part. The $$ they saved me and a quick turn-around due to one of the much lessor costly parts/labor was much appreciated! I'll be quick to call them again in the future for any kind of appliance repair that might be needed,"

"We have a contract that we pay monthly for any plumbing and appliance repair, like a home warranty. The guy came out the second time and told my wife that if they couldn't get it fixed they would buy a new dishwasher. So they rank very highly on my scale. 

What I like about them is that they do get the job done, but what I don't like is that you can describe in as much detail on the website what the problem is. But it's kinda hit or miss on whether they are have the necessary parts to fix the particular appliance. They almost always have to do second call or buy a part. So like with our dishwasher, they came out and sort of diagnosed the problem but they had to get the motor and things so you can be another week or 10 days with out the dishwasher. Which is not the end of the world. I understand why they don't do that because it could be expensive to buy the parts for all of the different machines that you are servicing."
