"We had an excellent experience with Mid-State. They were prompt and courteous both on the phone and in person. Our HVAC went out late on a Wednesday, I called them the next day, had someone out to discuss our options. No pressure whatsoever to buy a new system, but we decided that's what was best given our 11 year old system that the previous homeowners had already done some repairs to. We had a brand new one completely installed by 1pm Friday. Our installer Danieal was particularity impressive--very detail oriented, and did several things I wasn't expecting based on our contract to make sure our system was running as efficiently as possible."

"I just moved here from Illinois, and was super overwhelmed with the many things that needed to be fixed at the house...the prospect of trying to track down multiple tradesmen to do all of these different things was daunting. I happened across Bizzy B's info on Yelp when I was looking for a plumber, and when Justin stopped out to help with that issue, he told me they could also take care of that entire (extensive) list, with no problem. Lance and Justin did, indeed, take care of that whole list, not the least of which was an exceptionally large fence in our yard that I was pretty sure we would have to scrap within the year. They said they could power wash it and paint it up, and it could have a lot more years of life AND look good. I thought it was worth the chance, considering the price of a brand new fence, and I was surprised beyond my wildest dreams that it could even look this fantastic! All of the work was excellent, and almost as important, they were both extremely friendly, took the time to interact with the dogs when they were in the house, and genuinely felt like friends in the couple of weeks they spent here. I know I probably wouldn't have been that upbeat and kind if I had spent all day baking in the sun when it was approaching 100 degrees. Overall, super impressed...and so are the neighbors. I'm sure they will have more business from our neighborhood, and I'll be recommending them every chance I get. Thanks so much Bizzy B!"

"Service was excellent! There isn't much to say except that Mr. Wood came out and did exactly what was asked of him, in a very professional manner. We had just purchased a foreclosed home and we weren't getting hot water from one of the water heaters. Bob confirmed the elements were burned out (probably my fault when we discovered a water leak at the meter and shut it down until it was repaired.) Bob presented the options of replacing the elements or replacing the heater. Give the 13 year age of the heater I decided to replace the entire unit, and Bob did so very professionally and economically. I'll definitely be calling Diamond 1 Plumbing for all our future plumbing needs. <br />"

"After five plumbers who couldn't find my water leak, Jeff did. He found it fixed and fixed my sewer within just a couple hours. He charged way under what he should have for the work preformed and time it took. He was great and I will never ever use anyone else. I called the next day and he was right out to fix my toilet, which had nothing to do with the prior problems and did not charge one penny."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"I was frustrated that they didn't cover our garbage disposal and they didn't cover the thermostat, otherwise everything we did there was great. I didn't have any problems. It's $50 a month, and then everything is covered. You don't have to pay for people to come out. When our hot water heater broke, we had to pay for the new water heater, but that just for the actual thing, not anything else like the service or installation."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Union City, TN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
