"Removed old concrete patio: This was an old 1963-era concrete slab. Massive. Mike & his team brought in jackhammers and made quick work of it. Waterproofing: Removing the old slab revealed a damaged (and possibly leaking) portion of the house wall, which Mike's team repaired well. Replaced with new patio: Mike's team poured a new cement layer, then installed a new flagstone patio surface on top of that. Also a new step (concrete with flagstone exterior) at the door threshold. They also re-installed an iron railing which had been part of the original patio configuration. The job went well in all respects. We're happy with the team's work and with the new patio. I've worked with Mike and Diversified Contractors several times now. Each time, Mike has had good ideas & suggestions. Each time, his team has demonstrated excellent skills. Again, I'm looking forward to our next project."

Customers say: Quality work

"I do not normally write reviews, but I feel like I should let other people know about this company. I could write an entire essay on my experience with them but I will try and keep it short. I hired HL to redo my entire front lawn with new walkways, retaining walls, plants, mulch, and trees. I spent over $17,000 and thought I was getting a great deal. Dave and his group were very nice at first but once work had begun things quickly changed. They would say nice stuff to my face but I would catch them saying bad things about me behind my back. They had horrible communication with me, they rushed to get to the next job, and I had several problems with their work. The amount of stress they caused me was truly unfair to me. I eventually got most of the problems fixed. One of those problems was they did not install weed fabric under all my beds as discussed. They came back and fixed it but did a horrible job. They also put barely enough mulch back to cover the fabric and dirt so now I have a literal jungle in most areas. I was not happy before I paid but no amount of money is worth the issues they caused me. They even put grass seed in the mulched areas that are now grass. I would have tried to get them to come back out for the fourth time but it is not worth the stress. I expect a little maintenance but my yard looks nothing that was agreed to. I will have to fix it myself in the spring but I had to write this review because everyday I look at my yard and I am not pleased. Reading the other reviews makes mine stick out but I would not recommend them. Spend your money on a better company. UPDATE: Owner reached out to remedy the issue. They came out and pulled out all old mulch, weed, and weed fabric and replaced them. Looks much better. They seem to have taken more care this time and I hope it works. Fabric seems to have been put down better with more mulch too. I hope the mulch is deep enough with a combination of fabric to stop most weeds in the spring."

"Brian and his team were extremely professional. He had a great vision for our patio with a small retaining wall and followed through with a stunning end result. Their pricing was reasonable for the scope of work. I would certainly recommend them to anyone whoâ s looking for a professional hard scape installer."

"Very organized company and very friendly. They cleared our pasture, pulled up the old fence, and put in new. They also cleaned up all the debris. We've hired them to come back and do more work. The prices were comparable with other contractors but the service was way ahead of any. They returned all emails immediately and answered any questions. The whole team was very friendly and professional."

When Ben and Shannon came to the house on a Saturday to give us an estimate, I was immediately impressed with their professionalism and expertise.  I subsequently chose Freestate because of my initial interactions with them, the many positive reviews they received on Angie's List and because of the price I was quoted, which was by far the best for the amount of work we needed to have done.

I made the right decision. Ben and his crew arrived this morning on time and went right to work.  They did exactly what we agreed to in the contract, answered all my questions throughout the day and did an amazing job with the trees.  The yard even looked better when they left than it did when they arrived!  They removed all the debris from the gigantic tree they cut down, as well as the leaves, branches and limbs from the other trees that were thinned out and trimmed up.  They also neatly cut and stacked the nearly two cords of wood yielded from the silver maple, which will be put to good use this winter.  They also left no trace of the shredding work that was done adjacent to the public road in front of the house.

This transaction went as smoothly as it could possibly go.  I highly recommend this company. They will be the only tree service I ever use (and recommend to my friends and neighbors) from this point on.

"I hired Ace to clean up the last two autumn's worth of leaves from my yard. The crew of three worked for four hours and cleared the worst of the build-up. They came with all the equipment needed for the job worked diligently for the entire time, and left my yard a lot clearer.

"We hired the maid service to clean our house on a bi weekly basis, they are wonderful. The first time they came out we couldn't believe our eyes when we got home. They straightened up and cleaned things we probably would have never done. I highly recommend these two ladies, they are super friendly and do a wonderful job."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Unionville, MD

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
