"I'm not fully moved into the home yet, but I will update when I am there permanently. The crew was very professional, worked diligently, cleaned up after every day of work (three day job--french drain expansion, two additional sump pumps installed, window drains into the sump pumps, pretty extensive job)."

"They performed the work quickly and the guy was nice but the charge was 480 for a clearing a basement accessible drain. Got quotes from other for 150-350~ for clearing the same drain but wouldn’t come out as soon as DE plumbing pros. Seems very overpriced and wouldn’t use again unless I absolutely had to. Their customer service was good and theirs plumbers professional."

"The job was to put a sump pump and French drain into a crawl space off my basement. It was completed in a timely fashion. They removed all material in the crawl space and also sprayed an anti mold solution. When I called company to ask questions Jason kindly explained the answer."

"the installation was done perfectly. The crew (Tony and Brian) arrived on time and wore shoe covers before entering, then they laid dropcloths down to protect my basement steps and hallway. The oil burner was disconnected first and carried out to their truck with precision. the old oil burner was a monster of a machine and the new weil maclain gas model paled in comparison, but works outstanding. the only blemish that i saw was when they sprung a leak in one of the cold water supply lines and had to utilize the main shutoff valve. otherwise, Between the sales associate(Paul Bistline), the main office, and the install team, this company does everything right from start to finish. i highly recommend them to everyone that's looking for a reputable company with lots of experience and a knowledgeable staff. This is the company to beat"

"Anthony did a great job installing a water backup sump pump and a hose bib. He was very professional and personable. I was very impressed by the care he displayed each time he had to go out and come back into my home by putting on and taking off his shoe coverings. I will definitely use them again for future plumbing needs."

"They are excellent. I will always use them. I'm very satisfied with their work. They are clean; they are neat, and they're professional. They make me part of the solution too. I'm an engineer and I like to know what is going on. They don't mind me asking them questions. At least they don't seem to when I ask them what they're doing and why they are doing it. They respond very nicely and they seem very comfortable about it. The prices seem high. They are probably very competitive. I don't know I use them. I'm satisfied with the work and I don't mind paying the price. When I see them soldering plumbing I have an idea of what that should look like when it is done. You can put a picture frame around their plumbing. It's so great. They do a nice job. They are not sloppy with dripping solder around or clumps of solder on it. The responsiveness has always been good. They are responsive, but they try to work with me in the time frame. Depending on my schedule, and their schedule they try to accommodate my time frames. The punctuality when they are early they are on time and when they are on time they are late. They always come about 5- 10 minutes early so they're always on time. They are very professional. When I call up the office to the people who get here. They always call the day before and then they call like an hour before to tell me they're on their way. They are good about that. Everyone I've spoken to seems to be knowledgeable in their field. Everyone seems to have good experience and if they get a challenge they seem to know who to call to get answers. It flows very smoothly. It is a good company."

"From the estimate process until final product finished today, we could not be happier with BQ Initially was quoted a 2 day process to complete our Aquastop waterproofing system and sump pump replacement, Steve, Curtis, Pedro, and Josh arrived as promised at 7:30 and completed the job by 1:30. They explained the entire process and updated us throughout. They were very professional, efficient, and polite. Everything was explained about the new system and cleanup has the basement back to pre construction condition. We highly recommend BQ Basements and Concrete!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Unionville, PA

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
