"The whole process went extremely well. It was a pleasure working with Madi and selecting the right color, and Michael and his crew did an excellent job installing the carpet and placing all the furniture back perfectly. Would highly recommend Key Carpet!"

"Nick responded in a timely manner to my phone calls, gave me a time window in which he could do the repair and showed up within that time window. He professionally repaired the carpet such that the repair is hardly visible to me and could not even be found by someone else. I'm very pleased with the result."

"The carpets look great and smell great, too!   Mike was pleasant and knowledgeable.  He left me with some information on cleaning spots and a container of spot cleaner.  Cleaning the carpets didn't take much time, at all.  I couldn't be happier with the results! <br />"

"From start to finish, the process was very smooth and professional. Everyone we had contact with was amazing: Diane, Greg, Chris, and Doug. Diane was the salesperson and she was amazing - VERY prompt, professional and responsive. She was able to get us the detailed specs on the carpet we were looking for and also answered my many questions without hesitation. The installation crew was also amazing. Greg, the installation manager, was willing to work with me and answer any questions I had. The installers, Chris and Doug, were top notch. Very nice and professional. They took their time and paid great attention to detail - making sure things were done right. The job turned out gorgeous! Thanks, Classic Carpet!"

"Received recommendations for Carpet Resource from a number of friends, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our job was a lot of work including moving 4 bedrooms full of furniture. The carpet looks great and the price was reasonable for the quality of material and the amount of work. The installers were good at what they did and nice guys. I would definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to friends. <br />"

"Then Ryan re-did the job in question and did a beautiful job -- evenly spaced tiles, beautiful corners, great grouting work. We're very happy with his work. He and his assistant were quite pleasant to have in our house. They were very neat and always put down protective runners over the carpet in the hallway to the bathroom. Furthermore, they always cleaned up the work area everyday and stored their equipment unobtrusively in our garage. I would, and will, hire Ryan of Exceptional Flooring again. (By the way, as he left, Ryan told me they also do hardwood floors and carpeting.)"

"We were very pleased with the service, both at the store as we selected the tiles, and with the installation. A subcontractor did the install, but the individual who estimated and the installers who did the work were very professional and easy to have around the house. The floor is beautiful, and the work they put into the whole process really shows. We did have a miscommunication at the outset when the installation crew didn't know that we wanted the old vinyl floor and subfloor removed, but that was resolved with a minor adjustment in cost, and the crew worked the extra day of labor into their schedule and finished on time. The installers also seem to have done a very nice job of taking care of some ugly squeaks and non-level places in the floor. The price was very fair for the work and the product, but I wouldn't call it a bargain. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in University City, MO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
