"Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. I didn't think the results would be as good at they actually are. Prior to the project, the stamped patio area was an un-pleasing light tan color and had clearly not had any care for many years. I had them stain it a darker brown and apply a glossy hardener/sealer to the surface. The results are amazing. It looks modern, like new and really makes a difference in the overall look of the yard. Before they applied the color/seal, they had a professional pressure washing company come in and prepare the surface. Everything was done on time, and the interactions I had with the office crew and/or work crew at Natco were very professional. They were honest and seemed to want to get it right, instead of just getting it done. They gave me some "this is what I would do if I were you" type of advice which is really helpful and sincere. I had several bids for the work, which varied widely in price and approach. But overall, Natco seemed to be the most honest and not trying to over-sell.

Small jobs welcome

"It was actually a large pad for a basketball court and a patio. They had to level the area and do all the concrete work from scratch. They did an amazing, timely job and we couldnâ t be happier. Justin did an estimate and when we hired him he came back out before the contract to explain everything and make sure exactly what we wanted. The job was scheduled two weeks out which we were thrilled about. Thank you so much and we would definatly recommend Justin and his crew"

Small jobs welcome

"Arthur Silva and his son did a great job on my sidewalk, steps to lower level of yard, and supports for new pergola. They were on time, worked hard, and finished the jobs with obvious experience and quality. I would recommend them to others and hire them again myself."

"Only after the work started was I told that the work would be done primarily on the weekends. I have an irrigation system in my yard and that was not marked out before the small skid steer started working. Finishing details were not done. The only positive is that my concrete pathway and patio are gorgeous. However, my lawn is still not level, I'm still removing rocks throughout the yard, the leftover gravel from the concrete work was not raked up and taken out as I requested so every time I dig a hole to plant flowers I'm having to dig them out. 2 pipes that were broken were not fixed correctly and I had to have someone else repair them after this contractor tried twice to repair them. My front yard was damaged from the tires of his truck and he never properly fixed that."

"Jamison and his crew came in on Wednesday, tore out the old driveway, graded and formed for the new. Put in the gravel sub layer and were ready to pour concrete the next day. Thursday they installed the rebar, poured and and finished the driveway. The whole crew were pleasant and professional and the finished product was all that I asked for and more."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Veneta, OR

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
