"Finest Fence took a lot of time working with multiple families to come up with a workable solution. Finest Fence (FF) was not the cheapest, but choose them based on reviews. We accepted FF's proposal in totality including the suggested upgrade, except for a middle or third rail. Anything missing from the scope of our job was not due to us turning it down. While installing the new gate, the workers got spray paint on the house (pic). Awkward transition from the gate to the connecting fence. The problem was fixed, see the before and after pic. Did not connect the new fence to the old section of fence. The problem was fixed, see before picture. They removed cinder blocks that were preventing soil erosion on the slope between my house and our neighbor's house with new boards. The new boards do were unsightly and do not prevent erosion."

"We got the estimate in November, 2014 through Home Depot's install services. They would not schedule an appt for after hours or weekends, so I had to take time off work to meet the sales rep and get the estimate. We had 11 ft of space between our old fence and the sidewalk on our side yard and we wanted to expand our backyard area. I asked the sales rep what code was for placement back from the sidewalk. He did not know (which I found interesting for a fencing contractor). I told him at that time we wanted to be within code or very close so it did not cause issues later. Again, he did not know. He spent more time discussing how great Borg Fence was and all the Home Depot business they were getting and not spending enough discussing our fence. He provided a quote which was slightly higher than other quotes we received, but the sales rep from Borg said he could get us 12 month same as cash financing with Home Depot. We decided to wait until after the holidays at which time I contacted the City of Roseville myself to confirm set back (5') and height limits (7') for our area. Once I obtained that information I emailed it to the sales rep and asked if we could schedule the job. At the same time, I had let him know we had received a coupon from Home Depot for a 24 months same as cash deal for services and asked if we could use that coupon. He thought we could and for me to email it to him (which I did) and we scheduled the date.
The crew arrived as scheduled, but when they started laying out the holes for the posts, they were laying them 4' from the sidewalk instead of the required 5'. They had already dug two when my husband stopped them and pointed out that it was too close to the sidewalk. They said that was what the sales rep drew on the drawing. My husband had difficulty discussing with them where the posts should go as none of them spoke very good English and they had to resort to pointing to the dimensions on a drawing from the company. So he called the Production Manager (who was out that day) and left a message for his backup, then he called the sales rep, but had to leave a message there as well. The Sales Rep called back and spoke to my husband and during their discussion (in which the Sales Rep took an uncalled for hostile tone) the Sales Rep stated that we never discussed a setback from the fence, that he was never told of the requirements, and that they never go by code, only the wishes of the customer. He did call the crew and had them move the holes to 5' as requested, but only after much agruement and the threat of them charging more.
Then they started removing the old fence and we noticed they were sawing off the posts at the ground and buring them instead of removing them completely. We again called the rep to discuss why the posts were not being removed, since the quote stated it included "tear down and haul away of old fence". We made a point that a reasonable person would understand that removal of all of the old fence would include the concrete and entire posts. His response was "we never do that, we just bury them". That if we wanted them removed it would be an additional $50 per post (we had approx 14 posts) and he said it would another day to the job. My husband had taken a vacation day off to be there for the job. He could not take another day without prior notice. Even though we argued with the rep, he was not budging on his stance and since several posts were already now in place, we had them complete it . The fence was completed and looks great. The crew cleaned up everything and finished in 1/2 a day.
I would like to point out that the crew were courteous and respectful, even after having to move the two posts and all of the drilled holes. The biggest issue we have is we want need to have additional work performed (landscaping the new back yard area behind the new fence) in the yard, but will now have to remove the posts that remain for some of the new plants to be planted. Then, to top it off, once the charge was processed through Home Depot it was only setup as 12 months same as cash, not the 24 months with the coupon I had provided. This was resolved by me calling Home Depot credit and having them apply the 24 month coupon. One more thing the rep did not listen to me on. With our experience with the Sales Rep being what it was (disrespectful) we would not currently recommend Borg Fencing to anyone for fence work in our area.
"

"I have existing indoor railing that stopped short of a stairway. I asked Oscar to manufacture a railing that would match the railing I have and bring it down the stairway. It would have to be an exact match, color and type, or else it would not look right. Well, let me tell you he and his crew did an incredible job. It is beautiful and you cannot tell that it was an add-on. It looks like it was all done at the same time. I have nothing but the highest regard for Oscar and his company."

"Jim, who came out and gave us a quote was excellent; very professional and knowledgeable. Same for Jesus, who did the installation. It looks better than we thought it would - we're very pleased."

"We needed about 95' of fencing and were sharing the cost with our neighbors. We'd obtained four other bids before signing up with Angie's List. Karen quickly scheduled our appointment, was on time and professional. She was knowledgeable about the quality of her product and fencing in general. She was willing to return for a second visit (on a Holiday weekend) to provide more information re matching fence colors with house color. Their bid was extremely fair--even after we decided on a fancy top for the two shared gates. Also important to us was their honesty--no hidden fees. We had to be out of town when they came to install the fencing and gates. We left our check with our neighbor and Good Neighbors was willing to work with us. We needed the fencing ASAP because our neighbor has a swimming pool and our yard is a corner yard, which made the openness of the pool very visible. We are pleased with the product and the experience of working with them and highly recommend Good Neighbor Fencing.
"

"The initial free consultation was a breeze. The representative was very thoughtful and genuine with his approach This was a complete welcome. I previously had a competitor, Guardian, provide the initial estimate. They were abrasive, overbearing, more expensive, offering a finite warranty, and wanted a longer wait time to install the fence.
All Safe, on the other hand, provided a much more competitive price, lifetime warranty, and immediate installation. The install crew showed up on time and dedicated an entire morning to get the job done right. They provided a complete demonstration of the installed fence, and cleaned up afterwards.
My entire family was impressed with the fence.
"

"It took a little work and some patience to finally get a hold of Hugh, The Fence Guy, but we finally connected via telephone after multiple attempts and found out that his correct email. His email listed on Angie's list is outdated and does not work. His correct email is tfghugh@yahoo.com (the verizon email address listed no longer works). His phone answering system is unreliable (sometimes does not take messages because message box is too full). With persistence, we finally arranged a site walk and Hugh gave the best price quote of the 3 contractors I had providing bids. It took a month for the work to finally start because of a one-time illness that prevented Hugh from starting sooner, but we were in no hurry.
Our patience was rewarded. Hugh showed up promptly on the first day of scheduled work with his crew. It took them 3.5 days to demolish the old fence, cut down the old posts, dig new post holes and set new metal posts into concrete, and then put up the redwood fence. They also moved one short stub of a fence with a gate from the front of the garage to the rear of the garage. I requested redwood fence boards that were one grade up from his standard grade and am very pleased with that choice. The wood boards look very and quot;redand quot; and premium in appearance. Hugh's workmanship was impeccable and the fence looks stunning with evidence of craftsmanship and pride put into the job. With metal posts, I don't have to worry about future rotting of the posts making the fence susceptible to high winds in the future. These posts feel very solid and sturdy. The only downside with the fence as constructed were the exposed metal posts which look out of place next to that beautiful redwood. I am thinking about having Hugh come back to build enclosures around each post to make it look more pleasing to the eye.
I am extremely pleased with the work provided, the lowest cost proposal, friendliness of the contractor, and the finished product. I highly recommend Hugh The Fence Guy for anyone looking to build a wooden fence. I also appreciate the fact that his is a family owned and operated company - all the employees working on our job were members of his family, and that he did not rely on sub-contracted out laborers."
