Carpet/vinyl /laminates/carpet tile -----sales service all in one place\n I started out installing for stores locally for about 30yrs. . i can save you money on quality. thats quality installations and the quality product you are looking for . For an example,, this is not some made up story here,, Recently and this has happened in the past . i'll get a customer saying they were at another carpet store looking around and had an idea of what they wanted to spend so without knowing what that was i said look at what i have and pick out something that looks similar to what they have picked out in another store. also pick out one that you are interersted in without seeing price. most people pick out something high in quality and high in price knowing sometimes they are probably not going to get it anyway . Now this customer picked out a quality that was similar to the other store . and one they were interested in with my samples my sample was at least 3 times better than the one they looked at from a different store and the pad was 3 times better also . now at that point i calculated from the same numbers they gave the other store for area to be covered with carpet and pad. no install price was included in their other quote, but was given to them seperatly before they left other store. so i calculated my price and asked what was thier quote from other place ,then i showed them mine .. it was approx. the same price, and i was higher .. BUT ...you are getting 3 times better quality carpet and 3 times better padding quality and it showed in thier face that this was true. also they told me seperatly what the other store wanted for installation and i shocked them again because my install was about 4 dollars a yard cheaper so in the long run im saving you money and still making money at my job. hope you give us a call for your next project.. and have a nice day

"I hired Warehouse Carpet and Flooring this past August to install glue-down vinyl plank flooring (approx. 1,660 sq ft) in my basement, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The process began in July when Zach came to measure and review samples. We discussed moldings, and I was told they weren’t necessary because the planks could be installed tight to the wall. Based on that information, we chose to move forward without purchasing moldings. The installation was scheduled for a specific date and time, but over an hour after they were supposed to arrive, I was notified that the crew’s van had “broken down” and the job needed to be rescheduled. The next day, the crew (led by Chevy, with Dylan assisting at times) showed up. I was told the job would take about a week. Over the next several days, the crew arrived inconsistently and often late. The quality of work varied, and I noticed they were using my personal supplies (painter’s tape, 5-gallon bucket) and then took those items with them when they left. When the installation was “done,” Chevy rushed me through a walkthrough, had me sign off quickly, and left through the basement doors. I realized afterward that my furniture was not put back as promised and that the workmanship was sloppy in multiple areas. I also found a ceiling tile removed and placed aside—later discovering it had been damaged. I immediately contacted the manager, Jason Griffon. At first, he apologized and sent Zach to examine the issues. Zach was visibly shocked by the poor installation and called Jason from my home to report it. Jason promised to “make it right,” but repeatedly failed to follow up unless we contacted him. My husband also had to get involved due to the lack of response. Eventually, Dylan was sent to “fix” the job. We were told the company would cover labor, replacement planks, and the damaged ceiling tile, but we would now need to pay for moldings—despite being told they were unnecessary initially. I never received a copy of the contract, even though I asked (and was told they do not provide one to customers). When the correction work was finally completed, the agreed-upon fixes were not fully done, and one section was completed incorrectly, leaving us short on moldings. We ended up purchasing additional moldings ourselves and finishing the job on our own. Jason also never reimbursed us for the ceiling tile, even after providing the receipt. This entire process dragged from August to October, requiring constant follow-up, patience, and effort on our part just to receive acceptable work for a job we paid for in good faith. Would I recommend this company? Absolutely not. The workmanship, communication, and professionalism were all extremely disappointing. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Vestal, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
