The quoted time to complete the job was 3-4 weeks, however it was more than two months from the time we signed the contract. It was not always clear when the contractors would be coming to the house, and there was quite a delay in finishing the shower door after the rest of the work was complete. "My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"The granite crew came out 9/28/09 as scheduled and promptly removed all the old kitchen countertop and backsplash. They then installed the proper decking and proceded to install the granite and new kitchen undermount sink. The free sink was a great perk. The crew was very careful of existing cabinets, appliances and walls. They were all very courteous, friendly and professional. The whole crew worked hard to make everything just right and worked very late to try to finish the job in one day. They would have accomplished that except for a slight error in the measurement of the piece behind our drop-in range. They had to have a new piece fabricated and scheduled a return on 10/3/09 to finish the job. In the meantime they put our range back into place so we could use it. They returned promply as promised and replaced the granite piece behind the stove to make a perfect fit. On 9/29/09 as scheduled, the tile layer came out to install the backsplash. We had arranged to supply the porcelein tile and I thought I had all necessary supplies on hand. The tile man suggested a better pattern and decorative tile arrangement behind the stove than what we had decided upon. My husband called me while in town (we live in a rural area) and we agreed we liked his suggestions. I brought back what I thought was necessary, but didn't quite understand what all was needed, so I made several trips into town to a local home improvement store to find the necessary pieces. But it all came together beautifully and we really appreciated his skillful work and expertise."
