"Rebecca Newcomer was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Rebecca made the decision easy for us to purchase the new windows. We have our fingers crossed that the install will go as smoothly as the decision to purchase. I cannot rate the value for money spent or work quality yet since I haven't gotten past the initial purchase phase at this point. I will update upon completion of work."

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. "It took much longer than expected, part of this was due to inclement weather & 2 ft of snow. When installer came he noted that porch was not secure enough to place sunroom on.  Owner of company came out to inspect while shoring up was being done.TRS shored up porch. Installer knowledgable and helpful. During demoing & building of stairs, they tripped power to house 3 times, finally they took out old outlet from old porch and used other outside outlet. <br /> Projected time to start was 11/14/15 & finish 12/14/15, was not started until mid Dec., and finished 2/25/16.  County did not issue permit until Dec. TRS might be a little more realistic about construction times. Built sturdy steps & landing and put in all new electric to sunroom. A few knobs for windows missing which they had to reorder and one screen not set in properly and bugs got in, and cover plate to electric box with wiring to porch was not put on. They did fix after a few calls.  <br /> When dumpster removed from driveway, it knocked my A/C unit off its base, unit needs to be repositioned we are waiting to see what that will cost.  <br /> TRS did send out a quality review staffer to go over the whole project when finished, which is rare, so it appears that they really want client feedback. <br />"

"Ray and his team did an awesome job replacing our deck! We collected three estimates from various companies and C&R’s estimate was by far the best value. We were very impressed by the quality of the work. They worked with the county to get the permits and inspections completed and were very efficient. We felt like we got a superb quality deck for much less than other Northern Virginia contractors were charging. I am glad we chose to go with this family-owned business. It felt like we got the product we wanted for a reasonable price and didn’t get “the run around” that larger contractors give you. Our neighbors have given us so many compliments on our new deck! Would definitely recommend them to others!"

"We have used this contractor several times in the past and his service has recently been declining. This last time we were really disappointed. He quoted a price for the above work and completed about 75% of it. We paid him in full and then he did not come back. When we asked him when he was planning on finishing the work he was unresponsive. When we finally got in touch with him he said he was booked up for the next week and wouldn't be able to finish the work.  (He left a room unpainted, caulking incomplete, paint tape and tools out, and didn't power wash a door. We also had paint splatters from some painting that he did complete on a darker colored wall.) As I said before, he was usually very professional so this time we were disappointed. <br />"

"Chuck and his crew were a pleasure to work with. As with any job, problems arose and changes made and he was pleasant throughout the 8 week process. He coordinated the plumber (job included replacement of plumbing), electrician, tile and glass guys, etc. also getting the necessary permits. He worked with the plumbing supply people when we discovered the wrong faucet had been delivered. He was okay with reusing the medicine cabinet and a vintage ceiling light. Worked around an existing corner cabinet adding wainscoting on the walls. The electricians installed the sconces upside down and Chuck quickly turned them right side up for us. They took out the existing tub, built in a shower stall, tiled with white subway and black accent tiles, installed a shower nook, replaced the window in the shower stall with glass block, redid the floor tile, installed new toilet, sink, towel bars, etc. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Victoria, VA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
