"CUSTOMERS BEWARE: Disorganized company, terrible communication, and worst of all the OWNER IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Find another local electrician! After a negative experience with the owner, Joe Casillas, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on 9/24/2025. As of 10/2/2025, J Casillas Electric is yet to respond. Problem: The owner will not honor their word or written contract with the customer. We have a written contract with Joe Casillas Electric (JCE) for them to perform work on September 24th, 2025, however JCE has refused to do so. Proposed Resolution: To remedy the situation, I am simply asking for Joe Casillas Electric to complete the work that we agreed to, with the materials that we agreed to, and at the price that we agreed to. The details are expressed in a written agreement dating August 21st, 2025. The agreement stipulates that 1 inch conduit will be used and that the price is $1,350. Additionally, the conduit should be metal, not PVC."

"I’ve been working with Veterans Electric for the past four months to install an EV charger in my condo within an HOA community. David drove from Oceanside to El Cajon to quote the project. I chose this company to support a veteran-owned business and because their reviews reflected professionalism and quality. Since HOA approvals can be complex, I was glad David had experience working in condo communities. He stayed patient through the long process and even made multiple trips back to the property to help move things forward. At one point, the HOA brought in an attorney and held an in-person meeting with the HOA president, maintenance manager, the attorney, David, and myself. The first conduit routes were rejected and the HOA’s proposal would have nearly doubled my cost. David came up with a solution that satisfied everyone. Even the HOA attorney was surprised and admitted he hadn’t considered it. David’s dedication and problem-solving proved I chose the right company. "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Vista, CA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
