"I had a little trouble connecting with Tree Preservation at first... David was on vacation... but he came out in July or August and gave me a bid, charging less because of the difficulty connecting. Later we scheduled the work for the first week in December. We confirmed again as the time drew near... and his crew came out as expected and did the work. It was a good crew... I was happy with the way they pruned trees and it was easy to talk to the crew leader (spoke good English and was a good communicator). David came out at the beginning and end of the job and we went over details. It's clear the company knows trees and also knows the aesthetics of good pruning. "It took 2 weeks for Rudy to get to me, we discussed what I wanted done - ivy trimmed on a lattice wall, leak in faucet repaired, sprinkler timer repaired with leaks around pvc fixed, clean up weeds by street, weeds in cracks, etc. I have natives and told him to leave the fallen leaves - he was not happy with the bark mulch but we agreed that he would start work and his price seemed fair. I have no lawn. I have no idea when he first did the work but I think it was 2 weeks later and was never certain when he or his crew would show up. The ivy was trimmed, driveway and parkway weeded and cleaned. Unfortunately much of my mulch was gone as well as some natives which looked dead but weren't. I haven't received a bill, have had to communicate by text and am generally frustrated with the lack of communication. I texted about the leaks but they are not yet fixed. I texted asking for a bill but it still hasn't come. He might be great for mow and blow and general cleanup but if you have anything other than grass, shrubs, trees and general cleanup I don't think you will be happy. <br />"

They showed up at exactly the scheduled time, explained everything they were going to do, and then took a lot of time when they were done to walk through all of the areas they treated and discuss next steps for patching and repairing the holes left by the bugs. They also replaced both sides of the garage door jamb when only one was quoted in the bid and didn't charge me any more for doing so."

"Overall, this was a very satisfying experience. Janus Pest was professional,courteous, knowledgeable and on time from start to finish. Jay Spicer came to our home and looked at all possible entry points for rats. He found the probable entry point and sealed it off. He also gave recommendations on ways to prevent further occurrences. He also noticed we had heavy outdoor ant activity and recommended an application of insecticide. After that we had several follow up visits by Kirk. He sprayed for ants, set traps and came back to check the results and reset again where necessary. He was just as professional, courteous, knowledgeable and on time as Jay. Also, when I called in to schedule follow up appts. the customer service person ( a woman - sorry, I don't know her name) was very courteous and took care of me right away. <br /> At this point we no longer have ants or rats! <br />"

"Brad the estimator was pleasant, quick and businesslike.  We received another estimate for $5,000 (from artistic non-ISA-arborist) and a 3rd estimate for $2,150 (from non-ISA tree service).  We chose CA Arbor Care for 3 reasons: because Michael Parker, the owner, has 2 ISA arborist certifications; because Brad was certain they would use a bucket truck and the access road behind our house, and because their website was informative & intelligent. <br /> On the day of service, the tree cutters (all licensed and fully trained, BTW) had no info on the access road and they said the bucket truck was tied up on another job.  We were disappointed but gave them the go-ahead.  Good decision: the trees look beautiful and balanced.  The workers are true experts, climbed the trees with ropes, and lowered the larger/medium sized branches via ropes.  They did eventually get their chipper on the access road to reduce their effort in removing branches & to avoid the need to drag heavy wood through the backyard & around the side of the house. <br /> I**** I'd like to give them the "Page of Happiness"  award.  Did that go away from Angie's List? <br />"

"We have absolutely no complaints and are thrilled with the outcome.  Ken Bragar responded the same day to our initial phone call (even coming out to our home to meet with us on a Saturday afternoon).  New to the west coast (and SoCal in particular), we relied on and appreciated his expertise in coming up with a plan and list of plants that would work on our property and meet our HOA's requirements.  Ken was willing to make adjustments in design plans and in the positioning of the plantings as the project progressed to ensure we would be happy with the final outcome.  He also traveled far and wide to get the best plants.  His work team was hard-working, careful, professional and competent - often going beyond the call of duty, doing extra work trimming bushes and weeding whenever there was "down" time during the project.  The project was designed and completed within a short time frame and the work was done, as contracted, in 4 days.  The completed project has exceeded our expectations.  We know that come next spring/summer, we will be even more pleased when the plantings produce blooms/flowers.  We especially appreciate that Ken is willing to continue providing services and to help out with any problems/concerns that may arise in the future.  We, therefore, know that the cost for the services that were provided was money well spent. <br />"
