"Candido and his crew were fantastic! We hired them to completely makeover our backyard. They had to remove piles of dirt, bushes, old trees, take up the old cement and then lay new sod, lay an entire new concrete patio, and create gorgeous planters for us that surround the entire yard. The entire project was shockingly completed in a week and looked amazing. We have since hired him to put in irrigation systems in our planters and sprinklers in the yard. We also hired him to do front yard clearing work and weeding and that was done in one day. We also recently hired him to take down a closet in a small room to make it bigger, and his crew did that, patched the ceiling, relaid flooring, and then painted the room for us over a week - it turned out amazing! We look forward to hiring Candido for future projects - his crew seems to be able to do it all. Always very quick and the work is great."

"The guys came out and were very efficient with the removal and placement of the new concrete. They were able to remove the old asphalt and prepare the site. My driveway looks so much. We get lots of compliments. "

"The stepped brick walkway in the front of my house was in disrepair and in need of replacement. I sent Tom photos of the area with measurements and he gave two quotes remotely, one to put stepped concrete in its place and one to extend the driveway without steps. Ultimately, I opted to extend the driveway for the extra space. On the day of the installation Tom and his crew arrived on time, quickly removed the brick walkway and set the new concrete with new concrete box and lid for the sewer valve. He also advised that I replace a portion of the bottom of the driveway adjacent to the project area because it had lifted over time and would be a tripping hazard. Overall the project went smoothly and was priced more reasonably than two other estimates I got."

"I guess things are good in the landscaping business right now since one company I found on Angie's List did not even bother to respond to my emailed request for a quote and attached scope of work, and another said we were welcome to get on their waiting list for work that would be at least 6 weeks out. Ben responded quickly and after doing a and quot;walk throughand quot; emailed me a bid with 48 hours. I was initially skeptical of having him do the work since the bid came in at least half of the other two bids we received, but his reviews here are very positive and it was not a very large project, so we gave him the job.

Ben warned me that his work schedule had recently changed and it might take three partial days rather than what would normally be a single day's work for him That was fine with us, and true to his word, he finished in three days.

As with any job there are things you don't see during the evaluation and bidding process, and Ben was helpful, but not pushy, in making suggestions as we encountered each decision point. He told me numerous times that what was most important to him was our satisfaction with the results. We basically kept to our original plan and only made a few technical changes to the irrigation system after the curb work was done. He had no problem with these and did not ding us with change order charges.

There was a little confusion between Ben and the curbing company in that they left a pile of debris when they finished, saying it was Ben's responsibility. The two of them went back and forth and when Ben could not get them to remove it, rather than leaving us caught in the middle with a pile of dirt and broken concrete in the driveway, he removed it and said he would deal with them later.

We are very pleased with his work and his work ethic. We have other work that we want done this fall and will certainly have Ben do it."

"I couldn’t have been more happier with the project of Tony pouring, the concrete in our shop. Not only was I updated throughout the entire project, but Toni handled the project very professionally and stuck to the quote that he gave me. At the end of the project Toni totally exceeded my expectations of the final product. Going to have concrete poured at my house already going to reach out to Toni to see his availability to pour concrete at my house."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Walnut Grove, CA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
