"Carl was very responsive, he got back to me right away after I submitted a request for an estimate and was the first contractor out to take a look at our job (connecting some HVAC ductwork and registers that had been removed). He was the lowest price of the 3 estimates we obtained and after we decided to go with him, he was able to get our job in just over a day later. He did the job on a Saturday morning (for no additional fee) and was in and out in less time than he estimated. Carl is also a nice guy and was easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing HVAC work done."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"Ben unexpectedly showed up the day after I called with a window unit so that it would be cool in my house, until they could install the new unit. He promised me that he would be here on Monday at 10:00 AM and showed up on time with his full crew. They all went immediately to work, and I was amazed at the professional way they completed their work in such a short time.
He promised me he would get me a unit with the same capacity and warranty (Made in America) as the other people I contacted for an estimate but for less. He not only came in several hundred dollars less with the exact same warranty, but included a ultraviolet air purifier, as well as a water pump to remove the condensation to a drain instead of outside my house like my old unit.
I'm older and about to retire and I haven't bought anything on credit since I was laid off over a year ago, so I don't have a credit rating. He worked out a payment plan instead of making me apply for financing which saved me a lot of money on interest. A handshake was all that was needed. Good to see there are still some good old fashion merchants still around that are willing to work with their customers on an individual basis.
 I told him that I had a hard time changing the filter where it was located on my old unit, so he relocated it to a place that I could just slide out the used filter and put in a new one.
He then had me contact his wife who takes care of the vent cleaning side of the business and she also came in $50.00 less than the other bids, because she gave me a discount for my doing business with them. 
He and his workers were friendly, courteous and hard working.
Then he came back on Wednesday to check if everything was working properly.
In the future I will not hesitate to call him for any maintenance on my new heating-A/C units but also to do any plumbing and fireplace work I need to have done.

"We had remodeled our kitchen, and purchased a gas stove to replace our electric stove. We had several quotes, and a lot of push back from local plumbers, "not sure if we can do". "too difficult" due to finished basement . Finally we connected with Home Advisor. Called Bruce on Saturday, he came on Sunday, did the job on Monday! We live in El Dorado, and frequently incur extra added expense, "trip charge" or even charges simply for estimates. Did not incur any of these with "America's Alternative". Work was professionally done, everything explained in detail. They even INSTALLED the gas stove! Bruce is a vet, employs vets, and these are a group of Americans that we welcome the opportunity to employ them. I had a few questions about using the stove (and no, I had not read the manual!) I texted Bruce, and he called me right back, and patiently answered my questions. Very pleased with all aspects of service. Very professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Keeping them on speed dial for any future projects."
