"The estimator was the one of the owners of the company. He arrived right at the appointed time. He did an estimate with 2 different fencing options and then also priced them at 4 foot and 5 foot heights. I was pleased with his professionalism and the choices/advice I was given. This was not the cheapest quote I was given but I decided I wanted to work with this company. Then I read their sales agreement. I found it to be extremely one sided. It has 21 provisions. Almost all for the purpose of removing liability from the company Nowhere is there any commitment made to the customer. Mainstreet can change prices or delay installation without penalty. If the customer cancels, the customer is responsible for liquidated damages of at least 10% and possibly much more. The only guarantee by Mainstreet is that they will transfer title to the fence when the customer has paid in full, There is no warranty on their work. This company has great ratings on this site which is why I wanted to work with them even though it wasn't the best price. A $6,000 fence is a big investment for me and I just couldn't risk that on an agreement that is so biased against the customer. When I approached the company about modifying the agreement so that the terms were fair to the company and consumer, I was given a flat "no". Please, please read the "Agreement of Sale" very carefully before working with this company. It is on the back of the estimate that I was given. The ratings here are very good, but I have to ask myself, if their is never a problem, why is the agreement of sale written the way it is. I just couldn't take the chance."

"Very well! Very satisfied! Gary was attentive to my concerns re mature perennials, shrubs and small trees growing on both sides of the old fence. Clearly he communicated my concerns to the crew. They were experienced, hardworking, and available for communication with me. I was careful to cover and/or tag the aforementioned plants before fence installation began. I believe it's the homeowner's responsibility to do that. Some perennials could have easily been mistaken for weeds. Several neighbors have commented favorably on my good looking new fence!"

"We purchased an Angie's List Deal for 1 cubic yard of mulch to be applied for $129.00 in March. Jim Matthews contacted me within a couple of weeks (after the late snow melted) and set a date to come out and review the scope of the work. He arrived promptly, explained he would clean out all the leaves, weeds, etc,. clear the existing mulch and reuse it along the back of the property, trench the borders and apply new mulch. The work would also involve all clean up. He explained we would need about 4 cubic yards, but would charge the Angie's List Deal price. Jim emailed the contract the following day and we scheduled the work to be done on Mon, 4/8. Jim and one other worker arrived about 8 AM and were done around 2 PM. The work looks great. Jim followed up to make sure we were pleased."
