"This company did $6500 worth of damage to our floors. They initially agreed to pay for the repairs but when I sent them the bill they suddenly claimed that they didn't do any damage and wouldn't pay. Beware!"

"I have been a customer of Hedayat for well over 9 years, from the time his ad appeared in Angies List. He is an expert on all things carpets which means as an appraiser, in addition to the cleaning and repair services provided, the quality of the work is the best it gets. My carpets thanks to the care given, all continue to look as they did when I brought them back to the US from the Middle East 14 years ago. I highly recommend Art Connection to those members who are seeking expert evaluation of and care for their prized Oriental carpets."

"We’ve got our entire ~ 5000 sft wood repolished with kitchen floor replacement. We also got all new carpets for all 3 levels done by Crown Floors. Willy is very knowledgable, an excellent person, very honest and transparent. He guided us in the right direction. He never went into price wars with the other company we were talking to. He gave us the best price and focused on quality and service. He came multiple times to our home and his crew was very professional and pro at what they do. I would always give him business next time and I highly recommend him for best quality, service and price. ???"

"When a leak in our upstairs bathroom threw a curveball our Memorial Day weekend, we decided to turn lemons into lemonade and remodel! We got several quotes and decided on Virginia Kitchen and Bath because they had beautiful, luxury-level results at our price point and did not sacrifice quality. It was a great choice! The design process with Burak was smooth from start to finish. He had the perfect balance of expertise and willingness to incorporate our ideas. I didn’t feel steered into a cookie cutter remodel. I felt like I had an experienced guide who knew what worked based on years of working in our community. Once we got started, Emin was professional and responsive. We always knew what was happening with our project, and when we had questions the answers were only a text away. Our day to day team, headed by Angel, were clearly the best in the business. They worked hard through the whole contract, often stopping to get our opinions to make sure everything was just right. The result speaks for itself. Our once dated bathroom with a broken toilet is now our serene oasis. The whole team at Virginia Kitchen and Bath made what could have been a tough summer easy!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Washington DC, DC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
