"BEWARE! I had an inground pool and spill over spa installed this summer. The project in question stretched painfully over four to five months despite timely payments, raising initial concerns about the contractor's management skills. It appears the contractor, Carlos, simultaneously juggled multiple projects--likely in an attempt to secure more business--which translated to delays and compromised focus on this particular job. After the pool's completion, I discovered a variety of defects requiring repeated repairs. These included bulging and loose liners (3x) just one week post-install, plumbing problems, excessive leaking from the pool heater, and untidy workmanship such as messy silicone application around corners and stairs. What exacerbated the situation was the contractor's poor customer service. When approached for assistance, Carlos responded with rude behavior and a lack of professionalism. Instead of honoring the warranty he advised to go on youtube. Do not use"

"When John came to my house for the first time I asked him about some repair, and he said “I do it all.” It did not take long to find out he wasn’t kidding – he really DOES do it all, and he does it all VERY WELL. His skill impresses me more with each job he finishes. John excels in craftsmanship and communication, delivering finished projects that meet and exceed expectations, while also providing excellent customer service and attention to detail. He takes time to explain his ideas and the reasons for them. John’s expertise seems to have no limit, at least none that I know of. His estimates are more than fair. On top of all that, he’s a genuinely nice guy and a pleasure to know. I’m delighted with the decision to hire John, and I will absolutely do so again."

FAQs for pool enclosure repair projects in Washingtonville, NY

An individual pool screen repair makes sense when someone accidentally tore the fabric of a single screen or a certain section has mold or mildew. If you need to repair a large number of your pool screens, however, it could be a more cost-effective solution to consider completely rescreening the whole pool enclosure all at once.

A pool lanai is similar to a pool enclosure, except it is considered an extension of a house. It sits under an existing truss roof rather than a separate shelter. Homeowners often outfit pool lanais with furniture, home décor, and other additions like audio-visual systems. A small lanai costs as little as $1,000 for materials and labor. Most lanais stay under $3,000 on the high end, but intricate layouts or large extensions can cost more in labor and materials.

Pool screens have varying lifespans based on their construction. Fiberglass screens last from 10 to 15 years, aluminum screens last from 15 to 20 years, polyester screens perform reliably for 20 to 30 years, and stainless steel screens offer durability for 30 years or more. Regular inspections and proper installation ensure these screens perform to their full lifespan.

You should regularly clean your pool screens to ensure they are effective and long-lasting. In a bucket, combine warm water with dish soap or cleaning vinegar. Then lightly scrub the screen with a soft-bristle brush or large sponge using your bucket mixture. After scrubbing, you can rinse the screens with a garden hose and let the screens dry in the sun. If you would prefer, you can hire a local window cleaning service to maintain your pool screens.
