"I have bought carpet and vinyl from Sam and Janice for both my home and business. This time I went for help with carpeting for my 90 year old Aunt. Not only did Sam do the measuring, but he helped me pick out the new carpet for her. The installers, Miguel and assistant, did a good job too. I am happy with their service and products once more."

"Lance is wonderful. He reached out right away after I submitted my project on Angie’s List. We set up a good time for him to inspect the job. Lance stretched 7 Year old carpet so it looks new again! The installer we used before said nothing could be done and walked away. Thanks again Lance!"

"When shopping Erin explained the different options that were available and made some money saving suggestions. Purchased a high quality product at a very reasonable cost. (Price included installation and disposal.) The installers were GREAT!! The crew arrived on time. Took out the old carpet and padding. Installed the new carpet and padding. They also removed and discarded the old material. Cleaned up when finished. THE CREW DID A FANTASTIC JOB. I was very pleased with the results."

"John at the store was excellent to work with. We were shown multiple carpets from several manufacturers and were allowed to take samples home for as long as needed. He worked with us regarding the price so we could stay within our budget. The employee who came out to measure, as well as the installers, both arrived at the agreed upon time. Installers worked very quickly, were courteous ans professional, installation looks great and they cleaned up before they left.  <br /> Bottom line: Fair price for a quality product, no hidden costs, excellent work done on time, courteous and professional. <br />"

"Max Care workers, Doug, Dave and Will, could not have been more professional. Workers were on time or called when there was a delay. Scratch marks and knife-cuts from original carpet installers 50 years ago disappeared. Floors look great. Instructions were very clear as to when items could be returned to finished areas. I do some woodworking and have a good dust collection system, so I know about dust. When they advertise '100% Dust Free, they mean it!"

"We could not be more pleased.  Our carpets were stained and dirty from the previous owners, and J & S cleaned them so well.  We were impressed with how many stains they got out as well as how the smell of the basement was improved once they were done.  We had them clean the upstairs (3 bedrooms) the stairs going down to the main floor, the main floor bedroom, the stairs going to the basement, and the entire basement.  When I arrived at the house later, they left information and spot remover for future spills as well as shoe covers for the movers.  We have them on our list to come in and clean the upholstered furniture next.  Well done! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Waterford, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
