After months of no responses Marvin made good on his promises and returned my furniture with beautifuly done craftsmanship . He is a skilled artist and his work is amazing. Unfortunately he didn’t have the support of associates to communicate to his clients what was going on and how they might retrieve the furniture rather then think they were sol. "Richard is excellent! The only problem with Richard is that he is so busy that he still hasn't had time to get on my next project of levelling the floor, installing the heat strips and setting 500 sq ft of 6x36 ceramic tile. He's going to start that next weekend and I'm sure that I will be giving you another review. All joking aside, Richard is very professional. He has very good equipment which says knowledge and success. He priced the job low and still did several extra things that I asked him to do while he was there. He asked for no extra money. Being a business owner myself, I felt that the job was so well done that I increased the total by 30% and still felt that I was underpaying. (Update) First let me say that Richard is an outstanding human being. I would trust him with my wallet. He works very hard to please the Customer. We are doing a complete remodel of our guest house and so far Richard has done the entire bedroom. That includes sheetrock, tile floor, paint and trim. As I stated in the previous review, he did a great job hanging the rock and did it so cheap that I paid him extra. The tile in that bedroom, about 450SqFt., is 6" X 36" on a very unlevel concrete slab. He worked his butt off getting that tile down. It wasn't perfect but I don't think anyone could have done better with that very difficult tile job. So, the sheetrock and tile were very good but then came the painting. The painting was really bad. I think that he got behind his scheduling because of the high difficulty of the tile job and rushed the paint. He chose to spray the walls and there is overspray everywhere. He put down tarps but they mare really for brush and roller work, not sprayers. Paint also shows the flaws in the sheetrock finishing and there were more quite a few. Richard worked diligently trying to fix them. I actually felt sorry for him, paid him and let him get on to his next job. I have another painter coming in to repair the paint job and I am working nights with paint thinner to clean the tile myself. I would still use Richard on some projects now that I know his skill level. I just expected too much from a man that bills himself as a handyman. All that said, if you have any tile job, Richard is as good as any contractor out there. I don't want to cost Richard any work. I own my business and admit that I have high expectations from other self-employed businessmen."

"This was an experiment for me in use of an interior designer online.  THe consultant was helpful in directing me to useful websites to review products and encouraged me to look widely and that was useful. Otherwise I found it difficult to use her services. The online aspect is one reason - looking at colors, e.g. wall colors and considering them for a particular space is difficult to do given than monitors and lighting change the look of things. Also, one cannot get the sense of e dimensional space from 2 dimensional tools
 In addition,  she was only allowed to advise me on one room and I have an open space that includes living, dining and kitchen areas, all of which had to be considered together. It was frustrating that she was not allowed to think about the other spaces when I had to think about all of them together.
The designer pushed me to choose a rug before choosing living room furniture but I preferred to choose the furniture first as it is more difficult to replace.  She was not able to be flexible on this account. Also, when I did not seem interested in buying through their service she seemed to loose interest.
It often took several days for the consultant to get back to me. That is the area where I most fault the individual as opposed to the set up of online consulting. 
In the end, I made my own choices and am happy with them. The experience gave me more confidence in my own instincts.
