"From getting our room measured, to getting an estimate, to getting our old carpet removed and the new carpet installed.  Everything went on time and smoothly.  Showed up on time, performed work in a professional and timely manner, cleaned up after themselves and thanked US  for choosing Usher Carpets! <br /> Will definitely use this company again. <br />"

"Don was timely in coming out and measuring. He worked with me on scheduling the installation very close to when I finished painting the room. The installation crew was timely, efficient, and did a good job. They moved the bed and mattress back in the room for me. The mattress is to heavy for me to move. I think that I got good value and quality from Carpet City. I would buy from them again."

"New floors revitalized our house. Jeremy Moffitt gave us excellent guidance on materials. We installed hardwood flooring on main level and vinyl flooring and carpeting on the lower level. Quality Floor's installers did an outstanding job of removing old flooring and replacing it. Work went quickly with good cleanup afterward. We highly recommend Quality Floors."

"As always, my rugs were smiling after their dry bath. Love this technique. Joe usually cleans and uses a special cleaning technique to clean my rugs. The runners are usually taken to our garage, laid out, cleaned and then placed in the house to dry in about an hour to the touch. Our larger rug is cleaned in place (Joe and assistant moves our dining table ) and again in about an hour it is dry (damp to the touch, not wet). We have used Dry Master for a few years now and are very happy with the results. Him coming to the house is a real bonus for us. Also, Joe and his assistant are prompt and will call when they are delayed (not often) for some reason or other. Nice."

"Mr. Rodriguez promptly came over and then emailed me an estimate that night. We agreed on a date approximately three weeks in the future at my request. Mr. Rodriguez and his men were friendly, professional and very hardworking. They completely sanded the floors into bare wood, stained them and applied three coats of polyurethane. The entire process took about a week. Their price was very competitive and the quality of their work was excellent. I will definitely hire them again if we decide to add additional wood flooring in our house."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Waynesville, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
