"When we first met with Lew Merryfield, our home was a disaster.  Smoke and intense heat had made it necessary to completely gut and restore our home.  It was a time of great despair and confusion.  Lew was very reassuring that his company would be able to handle to assignment and allow us to return to a home that was better than ever, and agreed to bid the job in the format requested.
After the contract was signed the Merryfield Construction Group was very active, and progress was made every week.  We opted to hire our own subcontractors for plumbing and HVAC, and an electrical contractor recommended by the provider.  The provider and their staff worked well with the other contractors and were communicative with us during the process.  A promise to never abandon working on our home for any significant period of time was kept.  Building options and recommendations were presented at appropriate times and were appreciated.  Lew and his brother George worked with us to solve problems that arose and we always felt like it was a partnership and that they took great pride in their work.  Additional work outside the original contract and work change orders were appropriate and reasonably priced.
The fire was one week before Christmas in 2013, and we were able to move back in late October 2014.  Although this time frame was slightly outside of the original estimate, it was not considered unreasonable given the nature of the work and the change orders. After we moved in, the provider has done a nice job on following up any problem areas and punch list items.
We are very happy with our "new" home and are confident that the provider will continue to stand behind the work.  The overall job turned out much better than we could have expected.  Lew and George Merryfield, and their staff, particularly Tom Ferry, Sean, and Scott, were always respectful and friendly, and took obvious pride in their crafts.  In conclusion, we are glad we selected Merryfield Construction Group and would not hesitate to use them again in the future or recommend them to others."

It was clearly the most expensive project we've ever completed on our home so finding a trustworthy, skilled team that specializes in both decks and hardscape patios was key. Gary's was not only the most reasonable (~15k less than the highest quote), but his willingness to work within our budget, flexibility throughout the project, suggestions and recommendations were all on point. Craftsmanship: We are so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the deck, hardscape, sitting walls, and custom lighting and fire pit. It surpassed are lofty expectations in every way. If I ever have any future decking or patio hardscape needs I will be hiring Gary and team again. DO IT... you will thank me as I have the previous reviewers for sending me his way."

I received 5 quotes and they were the least expensive, used better materials (2 x 6's vs 2 x 4's) and proposed a foundatiom for the hillside project. I am thrilled with the workmanship. "I have a 100+-year-old greenhouse on my property that was in total disrepair. Several builders refused to do the project because it would be too much work. Mike, not only agreed to do the project but he gave us a reasonable price. He offered his professional opinion on areas of concern and actively listened to our wants. He did what we requested even if it made the project harder for him. He was reliable and even showed up to work in 20-degree weather and pouring rain. The project did not go as quickly as he had planned due to supply chain issues but it still was finished in a reasonable amount of time. I am very pleased with the completed project. Repairs were: new roof on garage and shed attached to greenhouse, new shelving inside, new plexiglass and wood frame for greenhouse with custom ventilation, upgraded electric, and plumbing, new doors including custom garage door, cinder block wall repair, removal of old heater.
