"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."

"Everything went great, there were a couple changes that had to be made as the job progressed, we found out the old toilet had been leaking pretty badly, and there was a bunch of rotting floor boards.  Other than that they completed the job within our time frame, cleaned the house up at the end of each day very well, and really treated our home like it was theirs.  Everything was sealed up with plastic barriers so we wouldn't get dust throughout the house, I was very pleased about that.  We plan to have them back in the next year or two for the kitchen.

Dave and his crew removed the old shingles, placed a coating on the bare roof, and put down new shingles. They cleaned up multiple times each day. They used a remote cart with an extendable slide. "High recommendations for all aspects of job (complete priming, scraping, wood replacement, painting, repair of exterior of house). The house had not been painted in a long time and it showed it. Bruno, the owner and sometimes crew member, gave a knowledgable assessment of what needed to be done in a walk-around inspection. He wrote out what he would do in a clear contract/proposal and stuck to the contract even though a lot of surprises showed up during the preparation process. The job was complicated by bad weather and rain but it never hindered the process or progress of the job. We also had not made a decision about the final color until the painting began. We never felt pressured to make a decision even when we had changed our minds from our first proposal - multiple colors rather than one. The crew was hard-working, friendly, professional, efficient. They didn't make us feel in the way or uncomfortable doing our activities while they were hard at work. Tireless workers. The price was fair and competitive. When asked, we have told our friends the price and they always said that they thought it would have been more. Excellent materials were used for the project. We have had the house painted before and the Empire Company performed many steps, especially in prep work, that had never been done to or considered for our house before. HIGH recommendation.
