"We couldn’t have replaced this door with a better expert. Ryan took measurements and photos, then recommended several doors in various price ranges. We didn’t realize how many options come with storm doors. Ryan gave us some really good recommendations and helped us make a great choice. He installed the door in a half day while we were out. Came back to a gorgeous door/screen storm door combo- something we weren’t even sure could have been done to begin with. Important to know:Throughout the entire process, Ryan was responsive and easy to reach. That’s vital in a world where ghosting is the norm (unfortunately). Ryan is the expert you need for your remodeling needs. Highly recommend!"

"James and his team did a complete renovation of a townhouse that had been neglected over many years. Tear-out of old flooring and fixtures. Installation of new laminate flooring, new paint throughout, new light fixtures, complete new bathrooms, complete new kitchen and exterior painting and power washing. All word was done professionally and thoroughly and at a fair price. We worked together on planning and acquiring the materials. They are very easy to work with and they got the job done in a timely fashion."

"Cesar does great work. He is reliable, kind and responsive. He replaced my kitchen cabinet doors, he installed my new bathroom: including vanity, medicine cabinet, light fixture, tile flooring, and toilet. All came out perfect. He replaced old closet doors with new bi-fold doors, and he helped with many other details I needed. I will definitely be using him again, I am very happy with everything!"

"Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. We had to constantly keep it locked with the tongue and strike engaged to avoid having the wind blow it open. This then became a security issue as well as a continual annoyance. We knew this door had to be replaced and soon. After collecting several cost proposals and meeting one contractor with quite a bit of experience, in the end, the labor cost that was given to us came out to be double the amount of all other contractors with the exception of SPEEDY STORM DOORS in Clifton. Vinnie, the Owner, quoted us a Larson storm door which I chose. Larson is a high quality product. Although I tried to do better on the cost of this door, Vinnie's cost to me was equal to the amount I would pay at the better lumber yards that carried the Larson brand. Vinnie's labor cost to install was significantly lower than all of the other contractors I spoke and met with. After meeting and speaking with Vinnie, I then decided to have him do the job. His vast experience and degree of communication made this an easy decision. Following an agreed upon date and time, Vinnie arrived at our home with his truck, fully stocked to support any type of door installation and then some! Working alone, Vinnie proceeded to remove our existing door without hesitation. Much to my surprise, Vinnie then removed a brand new Larson storm door (still in it's factory packaging) from his truck and proceeded to install it. I witnessed all of his work and can say that Vinnie has, in fact, installed hundreds of these doors and his work easily supports that fact. Vinnie paid significant attention to detail, ensuring that all was level and square and each and every fastener was correctly installed including insulation and cosmetic covering. Vinnie did not leave the job until he was satified that the new door operated perfectly. I am a very particular home owner and can say that I was very pleased with Vinnie's work and recommend Speedy Storm Doors to all home owners. I remain thankful that I chose this contractor and not the others! Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. FAQs for storm door installation projects in West Orange, NJ

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
