I was so pleased with their whole process, the price and the installation that I called their management to rave about how pleased I was. They installed a basement drainage system in an old leaky basement and a dirt floor crawl space encapsulation system where mold had grown. Our home was built in 1959. After several major rainstorms and four winter/spring months of time passing, all is perfectly dry and the obnoxious smell is gone!! The people on the job were skilled, considerate and did whatever it took to do it right. We were even visited by home office management and the salesperson during the job to be sure all was going well. "Dry Crete was great to work with. We had several people come to the house to look at our leak and consistently felt oversold with big jobs we didnt need. It was hard to know what we really needed and the best methods and Dry Crete helped to with that. Dry Crete was easy to communicate with, explained the options clearly and why their way worked (which was helpful given so many ways to fix the crack). "Absolutely perfect service in every way. Thomas explained my options: my existing dryer vent could simply be cleaned out, or it could be improved: straighter path, safer materials. Replaced the whole vent, at my request. Disassembled and thoroughly cleaned out the inside of my dryer and the surrounding area of the basement. I happen to love data. Thomas measured the airflow to the outdoor end of the vent, before and after the whole process — and the airflow increased by 10 times! My clothes had been taking five hours to dry, and now they dry completely in just one hour. I couldn't be more satisfied."

"I contacted Home Facelifters to remove a small concrete barrier from my garage, to repair the porch at the end of my house that was developing cracks and holes around the foundation, and to perform a couple of handyman tasks (replace a doorknob and replace smoke detectors). Joe replied to my inquiry and came out to give me an estimate within a couple of days of when I contacted him. When he and his crew started working on the porch repair they found that the problems were much more extensive than originally anticipated. The porch was actually pulling away from the house, and as the crew started to work on the porch they found a couple of large cracks running the length of the foundation under the floor of the porch, making it unsafe. It was clear to all of us that the porch would have to be replaced. Joe quickly came up with some estimates and found a solution to retain the roof over one end of the porch. He proposed replacing the porch with a new deck. The crew supported the roof on the side of the porch and removed the underlying porch and the concrete slabs. They dug holes for new piers and footing and poured concrete. It was also discovered there was some old (not active) termite damage on the lower side of the house where the new deck would be attached (this was damage that was treated when I bought the house 16 years ago so it was no longer active but the bottom portion of part of that side of the house had to be repaired and reshingled). During the entire process Joe was great about communicating the latest set-back and keeping me up to date on additional expenses. In the end the crew built a beautiful new deck with railings up to code. The job was much more complicated than what I originally anticipated and ended up being more expensive but was necessary. I may have been able to get the work done elsewhere for slightly less money but I do not know that I would have received the same quality craftsmanship. Joe and his assistant were great to work with throughout the process. They communicated clearly about when they were going to show up and about the progress of the work. They worked long days, often after dark, in freezing cold weather but finished most of the work as quickly as possible. There are still a couple of things left to be done (painting and building stairs to the deck) but those things have to wait until warmer weather. This is the second time I have used Home Facelifters for a major project at my home, and I highly recommend them."

"Charles and another man arrived two hours late--they never called me, rather I called them twice that morning to find out where they were. The first time, they said they were on their way and would be at my house in 15 minutes. They didn't arrive for another 1.5 hrs. When they arrived, they said they were on their way when they went back to their business and get rain coats. This was the morning before Hurricane Irene was to hit Connecticut and it was raining on and off. At the time, I was relieved that I was having the work done before the storm was to hit, since I knew the gutters desperately needed to be cleaned out. As it turned out, I'm not sure it mattered much, because of the quality of their work.

They did clean out my gutters, but not my downspouts. Basically, they dragged my hose up on the roof (a 2 story house) and flushed the gutters...into the downspouts, where else? I believe they did have to manually do some of the clean out and I have Waterfall vinyl gutter guards on my gutters that they had to deal with and which Charles complained about. I haven't had the gutters cleaned in several years and I knew that birds had dislodged the covers and nested in several place. After the guys left, I found one gutter bracket on the ground in the backyard (I can't see where it came from), and in another spot, I can see a cover connector clip (connecting two length of gutter cover) wasn't reattached to the gutter.

After Irene hit, I was inspecting around my yard and found that a large shrub next to the house was starting to pull out of the ground. That's when I found that the downspout at that corner of the house was packed with about a foot of debris. This wasn't from the storm, this was from them cleaning the gutters but not bothering with the downspouts. I couldn't believe it. Where did they think all that debris was going? They didn't even check the downspouts. It took me about 15 minutes with several make-shift tools (finally a bent wire-hanger worked best) to get it all out. I think the packed downspout contributed to the damage to the shrub (it'll live) because the ground there next to the downspout spot got so saturated.

I can't recommend them. When someone works on your house, you want to them to treat it like it's their own, like they care. I have to say I was very disappointed at how it went, since they had such good grades in Angie's List.
