Customers say: True professional

"Veglia Remodeling was wonderful to work with. Jeff gave me an estimate for the labor/work on my bathroom remodel. He also suggested vendors to work with and suggested meeting them to choose materials (which was the other cost of course). That was very helpful. Jeff was always available via text or phone. Mostly text. He was the point person if I had concerns. Always gracious. Happy to weigh in if I wasn't sure about something. He has a number of people who he works with and they were all very professional and everyone always cleaned up when they left for the day. I felt very fortunate to have Jeff commit to my project since my bathroom is extremely small (two people standing in it is a crowd) and it can be tough to find someone who will work on a small project."

Customers say: Quality work

"Overall Rating is an A+++. Project came out significantly better than we could have wished for. Chris Brusa , owner of Brusa Home Improvement was phenomenal, both as a contractor and as a person. We had a soaking tub and small shower stall removed. Chris created a linen closet where the shower was, installed a new 60" X 36" walk-in shower, porcelain wall and floor tiles, niche's, accent tiling, grab bar and exhaust fan. We purchased most of the materials since we wanted some very specific colors and materials. Of course there were a few challenges - like the pocket door became unattached and the accent tile was not your standard mesh-backed tile. We also added custom shelves in the niche's as well as installing a new exhaust fan in the second bath with insulated ducting and new external vents. Amazing how scope creep can happen. Chris took it all in stride. Chris managed and scheduled the work and the few subcontractors (i.e. plasterer and plumber). All were high quality craftsmen and genuinely nice people. Very accommodating. His fees were very competitive but we found that initial scheduling with contractors will require a wait. One that we found to be very much worth it. No only would we hire Chris again, we will recommend him and his subcontractors to anyone needing their services."

"We hired Brennan and his company when he first started his company, years ago. We had to structurally change the living room and dining room prior to renovating the kitchen. By the end of the project we had an entire open concept first floor, and brand new kitchen. Between the workmanship, communication, dedication to show up on time, when they said they would, I would highly reccomend B LaGrassa Construction. "

"We put a second story addition on our home with Cityside. From our first meeting with Freddie, he saw our vision and from there made it come to life. Each one of his contractors were timely, honest, fair and professional. Mike, Freddie's team lead was knowledgeable and detail oriented. Our project came in on schedule and budget and just how we had anticipated in our original meeting. We would not hesitate to use Fred/his team again or recommend them to others looking for building/renovations."

"Alex and his team were skilled, conscientious and clean. Everything came out as quoted, and they made sure that everything was done right. Our basement was transformed from a cold and ugly storage space into the place where the entire family wants to hang out and work out. We plan to use him again for our attic remodel."

"They was supposed to do kitchen renovation and they did not come and do any wall preparation before the cabinet arrival and also I had asked them questioned and they did not answer my email. I had shown photos of the wall inquiring how they wanted to proceed and their project management was keep in touch with the project to schedule. It should have been done cabinet installation door cabinet for arrival because all the cabinet and they've taken up space. I am a senior citizen and I have limited funds of that project. I am more disappointed that the project did not go well on both ends that they decided to keep my $2100 deposit. I they refunded most of my money back in good faith that I wouldn't have been disappointing. "

FAQs for kitchen remodel projects in Westborough, MA

Your galley kitchen needs adequate clearance around any island installation to maintain functionality. Most galley kitchens lack sufficient width for traditional islands, as these layouts prioritize efficiency in smaller spaces.

If your kitchen has an unusual width, consult with a kitchen designer who can evaluate your specific dimensions and recommend appropriate solutions. For narrower spaces, consider alternatives like rolling carts or narrow work tables that provide additional surface area without permanently restricting movement.

Kitchen remodels require six to 10 weeks for completion, though timelines vary based on project scope and material availability. Simple updates like cabinet refinishing and countertop replacement might finish within a few weeks, while comprehensive renovations involving structural changes often extend beyond two months.

Planning stages add approximately four weeks before construction begins. Maintaining clear communication with your contractor and ordering materials early helps prevent unnecessary delays.

Common errors include insufficient clearance between opposing countertops, inadequate lighting that creates shadowy work areas, and poor storage planning that leaves countertops cluttered. Some homeowners select oversized appliances that overwhelm the space or invest in expensive features that don't address fundamental workflow issues.

Careful planning, accurate measurements, and consultation with experienced professionals help avoid these pitfalls and ensure your renovation successfully addresses your kitchen's specific challenges.

Whether expansion makes sense depends on your home's layout, your budget, and your long-term plans. Combining a galley kitchen with neighboring spaces creates more open, flexible layouts that many buyers prefer. However, removing walls involves substantial costs, particularly if they contain plumbing, electrical systems, or structural elements.

Sometimes, optimizing your existing galley layout through better storage solutions and lighting proves more cost-effective than expansion. Consult with a contractor to evaluate specific costs for your situation.

Effective galley kitchen lighting combines multiple sources to eliminate shadows and create visual spaciousness. Overhead fixtures provide general illumination, while under-cabinet lighting illuminates work surfaces directly. Consider recessed ceiling fixtures that don't protrude into limited headspace.

Lighting with dimming capabilities allows adjustment for different activities. Reflective surfaces like glass tile backsplashes or glossy cabinet finishes help bounce light throughout the space, reducing the corridor effect common in galley layouts.
