"I had called a different company to come Saturday night when my I was running the washing machine, causing the bathtub to fill with dirty water and the toilet to overflow and flood the bedroom. That company never showed, even though I checked in repeatedly and they assured me they would be by shortly. I called Rob & Sons, among some other companies, on Sunday morning. They quickly returned my call (the only company to do so) and their first move was to call the city to check their line in case that was the problem, which could be fixed at no charge to me. It turned out the city line was clear, and Rob & Sons quickly came out to my house to check my line. They were responsive, polite and very reasonably priced — even on a Sunday morning. They quickly resolved my pipe issue and even helped clean up the overflowed water in the house. I called After 5 Plumbing at 11:00 pm, Wednesday 12/28/16, and Mr. Cook, the owner, answered the phone! He recognized my sense of urgency and took the time to answer all my questions, scheduled a team to come out on Thursday to assess the situation and determine what I needed. "At four o’clock on Monday, my roommate called to let me know there was no water. I suspected it was the pressure switch and using Angie’s List I found Clayton. The name sounded familiar and I suspected they had worked on my well previously when my parents owned the house. I called Jimmy and by 5:00 p.m., he was at my house as he had been in the area. He replaced the pressure switch and gauge but it did no good. Upon further investigation, he suspected it was the pump and arranged to come out on Tuesday morning by 8:00 a.m. He and Danny showed up right on time and proceeded to start pulling up the pump. It was quite the chore seeing as how my well is 410 feet deep and very stubborn. Jimmy, Danny, and their helper Will, were such professionals! They took the time to explain what they were doing and why. Jimmy offered me a couple of different options for replacing the pump, he was very candid about the pros and cons of each, and I chose to go with his recommendation. After replacing the pump, it was clearly working but the pressure was not building as fast as they thought it should and they asked if I had any leaks in the house. I did not believe so but with a closer look I found a toilet that was leaking in the tank. Danny looked and was dismayed to find that the toilet did NOT have a water shut off valve. At this point, it was late in the day, I had already paid Jimmy for the work, and I needed to go feed a friend’s cats. It was decided that they would go work on another job and return at 7:15 p.m. Danny gave me a list of items to purchase from Lowes and when they came back, right on time, he fixed the toilet AND added a water cut off valve. Jimmy even replaced my old, rotted, well cover that was older than I am. I cannot say enough good things about Clayton Well & Pump Service. They were responsive, professional, courteous, they picked up after themselves, and were reasonably priced. They made sure the job was done and that it was done correctly. I would not hesitate to use them again nor to recommend them to my friends and neighbors."

"Richard Knapp (local Mr. Rooter) was right on time for the service call.  He assessed the situation and provided an esimate that was acceptable to me.  He did point out that the intallation cost would be less if he was not installing a customer-provided fixture.  Of course my warehouse club fixture was more inexpensive than the Mr. Rooter fixture.  The installation was competed during that service call and the job was very professional.  Even though he did not provide the fixture, he took the time to examine the product warranty and explain in clear terms the manufacturer's coverage.  He cleaned-up the work area after installation and did wear protective "booties" when working in the house.  I will definitely call him when future plumbing work is needed."
