"Gary is incredible - very detail oriented, careful, and really listens to the customer to be sure that the work is done well and within budget. The issue I called him for was a few pieces of siding on our house were bowing outward. We got two other estimates - one very low and the other using scare tactics to try to get me to redo the siding on the whole house. Gary was honest in that the existing siding was generally in good shape and did not need to be replaced, but the cheaper estimate I received would not solve the problem because, due to where the problematic piece of siding was located, the scope of that work would not fully address the issue. He was able to carefully take off the existing siding from the roof down to the troubled spot and diagnose the problem (the nails used to hold the siding in weren’t long enough so the siding was only nailed into insulation, not wood). He had to replace some wood and use some new siding after tossing some warped pieces but other than that the job went off without a hitch. He had previously done work on my gutters and roof so this is the third job I’ve hired him for and, should I need anymore exterior work done in the future, he will always be my first call."

"Manny and his crew did our home's siding (removal and replacement), new gutters, overhang, front and side door trim and door, repaired our deck, built us wooden stairs and established a drainage pipe under our lawn to catch our gutter water and sump pump water, plus a few other odd jobs and we are happy with every single one of them! He gave our house a total facelift and listened to all of our concerns as well as gave advice for how to make things look better, without overcharging us. It was a fair price for work well done, the crew was courteous and hardworking, and they cleaned up after themselves. "Materials were ordered swiftly, and the team organized their subcontractors to complete the sequential work in as little time as possible. Most importantly, Sam, Anthony and project manager Adryan were on site every day coordinating the work and reachable within a moment's notice. In a very short three and a half weeks in August, the Universal team completed the complex plan.  New Pennsylvania fieldstone masonry work at the base of the home was installed first, including a new retaining wall.  A brand new timber tech rear deck was built.  Twelve new windows were installed.  All new James Hardie siding was installed and a substantial nine by twelve foot front portico completely transformed the front of the home.  Large scale reno is inexorably daunting, but the Universal team was communicative throughout the process. "Working with Rob and the Hammer Exterior team was the best choice I made for my project. During the pandemic I changed my house project priority from indoors to outdoors. I evaluated four contractors who came to my home, evaluated the siding and gutter replacement, and gave their proposals. I chose Rob and team for multiple reasons. First, I felt Rob had my best interests at heart. Others told me all about them, with less focus on my needs and home. Second, Rob took the time to review the project expectations, being transparent that some costs would not be known until the current two layers of siding were removed â one the original layer from early 1900s. Other contractors glossed over this. Third, Rob took the time to show me the materials that would be used, and their cost and impact to my home now and over the long term. Other contractors showed me the materials but did not go into detail. Rob was even kind enough to review material differences across proposals and share the pros and cons - even if I were to not choose him for the project. Fourth, Rob had an excellent crew come and do the work. They removed old aluminum siding and the original materials. Once removed, they meticulously built back my home, with proper wrap and replacement of any wood required. I chose the double panel 6" vinyl siding with built in insulation. The crew spent 6 days to do this project. Rob was available at any time and was on site each day to check in. I feel like I have a new home. My neighbors are equally excited for me and uplift to our neighborhood. This was a big project for me. I am glad to have found Rob and team. I would recommend them for any of their services."
