They first excavated, installed a compacted gravel base, and added rebar before framing everything out. Drainage slope was included so water doesn't pool, and they ensured utilities could run through conduit before the pour. The slab was finished with a smooth surface since it will later be tiled. Permits were pulled in advance, and city inspectors signed off at every stage. The process took a few weeks, and the space is now ready for the kitchen installation. "The walkway past five of the units in our condo complex had been tilted and broken by a neighbor's tree roots. On top of that, the original construction had an awkward step-up-step-down landing in front of each doorway, making it impassible to wheelchairs or strollers. MB Paving's prices were competitive with a couple other bids we got, but they were set apart by the professionalism of the owner Jose. He was courteous, and clearly understood the nature of the job and the best way to solve for it. We worked together on a plan to create a rolling walkway that rose to each doorway without covering the foundation vents. He consulted me on every decision from color & finish to drainage. The whole job took 3 or 4 days, including the day to dry, and we are so happy with the result. It looks infinitely better, and is so much easier and safer to navigate.
