"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. "Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."
