"Tommy and his team did a great job on our chimney! Once it finally stopped raining Tommy and his crew got to work and finished in a reasonable amount of time. Anytime I texted Tommy he would respond answering any questions I had. His work was top notch, rebuilt the crown (which looks bomb proof) and cut out the brick mortar out down to the roof line. Tuck pointed and painted my chimney. Not single drop of water has come in since he finished his work. They cleaned up all materials afterwards too! Really pleased that we hired Tommy Mattingly Masonry, I will be using him again in the future for any of my masonry needs."

"Breathsafe did a wonderful job with installation! They worked fast and in some yucky weather too get our right on mitigation system installed! They are very fairly priced and you can tell that they don’t make it a goal to profit off of customers, but rather just make a living. VERY kid friendly couple, Lances wife played hide and seek with my 4 year old. 😂 I would bring them back for any project they are qualified to complete!!"

"Ecsi helped me through the march 2nd storm by working with my insurance company. They meet the adjuster and I only paid my deductible for a new roof which they finished in one day and all new siding that took them about a week. When they did my roof I had them fix the back porch where a tree limb had fell. It was old damage so my insurance didn't cover that but Ecsi did it for free. Also I liked their work so well I had them fix my floor in my kitchen then decided I might as well get a new sink and cabinets while they were there. When they did the siding I didn't like the old windows, so I asked if they could do them too. They were very professional and it only took about a month from beginning to end for everything. I am very pleased and have and will continue to recommend them to all my friends and family.

"Let It Rain worked very hard with our insurance company to get necessary storm damage to our roof replaced. Let It Rain met with the adjuster and worked out all details with insurance company. Insurance approved for full roof replacement and Let It Rain had job complete within 2 days. The clean up from the job was unbelievable, looked as if no one had been on premises doing any work at all."

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Wheatcroft, KY

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
