"We hired Elyorah in November of 2020. It was our first time working with an interior designer. We had no idea what to expect and I though my job might even be too small for her. We wanted to redo the living room. She came to our apartment to look , measure, and listen. We had not even hired her and she gave us two suggestions to move two pieces of furniture. So simple yet it worked. We told Eli what furniture we wanted to keep and what we wanted to replace. She drew 2 different sketches for us so we could decide. We immediately hired her. She went right to work and sent us ideas. She really listened, and stayed well within our budget. She was always careful with the hours and extremely efficient. She helped us to broaden our ideas and suggested some pieces that we might not have thought of. She also helped us place art work we already had.. not pushing us to buy new pieces. "I hired AC Design and Development to redecorate 3 rooms in my 750 square foot 2 bedroom apartment. I wanted a cohesive design and color theme using a mixture of existing pieces and new. In our first consultation, Aishah motivated me to rearrange some furniture and declutter, which I did and am very happy with the results. Other ideas she had were not impressive but alone I found alternate solutions which work. I agreed to pay $2,000. for two design presentations. I hoped for expert assistance with selections in color and furnishings to reach that cohesive design. After paying 50% deposit, we had another longer meeting where I tried to give as much information about my personal tastes as possible. I thought there would be more specific questions asked and more looking around. I expected Aishah to have ideas ready to bounce off me, but nothing. We talked alot about our personal lives instead. Still, I was open-minded. She left saying she would be sending me some ideas the following week. Not only did I not receive any ideas, I did not hear from Aishah for over 2 weeks until I reached out to her, at which time she apologized and said she had had a family emergency which took her out of town. That was one week ago when I told her I did not wish to proceed with AC Design and Development on this project, and suggested a refund amount which I arrived at by calculating her hourly rate advertised on the website. I wanted to compensate her for her time. She said twice that she would be sending me a statement and a refund but I have not received anything. Two days ago she said she would send it tomorrow, and I have yet to receive anything. Aishah was late both times we met and overall I find her to be lacking in professionalism and customer service skills. I would not recommend AC Design and Development."

"Architecture drawings for a minor remodel were done on time and on budget. The town asked for one update to the drawings and Talo Architect made the update promptly. This update required consulting a licensed engineer. Talo was able to get input from an engineer and update the drawings accordingly very quickly. Talo is a very competent architect. He keeps abreast with the latest building and energy saving techniques by attending training and seminars. I had a great conversation with him about above-sheathing roof insulation - a technique that is highly recommended by building science professionals but not known to many architects and roofing companies. He is also very familiar with net-zero (or near-net-zero) home remodeling. I highly recommend Talo Architect."
