"Arrived on schedule. Went through the elimination process and determined problem was in the line to the pump or the pump itself (no water pressure). The service rep explained everything so that I understood fully what was going to happen. The pipe to the well motor was pulled up and a nickel sized hole was found in the pipe about 10 feet from the pump. The pipeline was galvanized metal and was very rusty. More holes were sure to develop; so, I had the whole line replaced. We also found the pump was 30 plus years old so, I had that replaced too. The service rep kept me informed through the entire installation process; as well as what to do after everything was completed. The pump had to be flushed with chlorine so, there is a short waiting process, tap flushing proceedure and water testing that he explained before leaving."

"Very professional.  Two guys came out. They diagnosed and found the plumbing leak but they said they do not fix plumbing issues. Instead they fixed another well related matter for me (which I had not detected myself) to justify their one hour minimum charge of $105. They answered all my questions in detail."

"Kyle came over and walked around, reviewing the issues and explaining options to getting the water out of the basement. His recommendation was to install a sump pump, and set up a system to pump the water out of the house. He mentioned installing additional drainage options around the window well of the leaky window. I asked about the wall in the garage that was creating the majority of the problem--how would they repair it. He mentioned a few options and stated that he needed to discuss the situation with his team and would get back to me. Took photos and measurements. Was here about an hour documenting all the issues. <br /> A week later Kyle came back with recommendations from the team. There was no mention of repairing the damaged foundation wall. I used another company that rebuilt the wall with cinder blocks and concrete, and sealed up the leaky window. No leaks. No need for a sump pump system. <br /> If you need a sump pump system, I think this company would do an excellent job. Very detail oriented. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"We had a leak in our basement that ended up being from our water softener, not from the outside, so we did not have Badger Basement perform services for us. However, they sent us a complimentary packet of information about water in the basement, and they were very nice to talk to on the phone. Ron called to confirm the appt. the night before, and arrived on time. He quickly assessed the problem, and even though we did not end up needing their services, he gave me a lot of great advice, and even followed up with a phone call to talk about a few things he thought of on his drive home. I did show him a spot in the basement where did have a minor leak from the outside and he quickly gave me a rough estimate. It was a very small leak and it only happened once during an extremely heavy rain, so we will not be addressing it at this time. But I know I will be calling them if it ever needs to be addressed. Very nice, very professional. We will absolutely work with them in the future, if needed."

"My interest in taking action to reduce our radon level in our basement was triggered by (2) long-term radon tests that I personally conducted by purchasing monitors from a local hardware store. These long-term tests ran for over (3) months each and resulted in average radon levels of 5.2 and 7.8 pi C/L, both results clearly above the EPA "action level" of 4 pi C/L. Initially, I contacted another radon abatement business that was listed on the Wisconsin radon contractors list. This contractor had a good website with much information, but they never responded to my request for a contact. ( Did they go out of business?). I then signed up with Angie's list and chose A T Pro Mitigation Services from among several contractors on the basis of the excellent references provided by previous customers. Owner John Thompson is a knowledgeable, energetic person who reviewed our situation with us in detail, providing (2) possible options for reducing the radon level. He was on time or early for appointments, skilled in his work, and followed through with his proposal, including final cost. All work was conducted in a neat and efficient manner. John provided us with a radon detector to conduct a 48-hour follow-up test after the new fan system had been running ~ 2 days , with the good results reported previously in my review. I strongly encourage future potential customers to contact John based upon our very good experience working with him this month (April 2014). <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Whitewater, WI

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
