"We had some sewage back up into our basement sink on a Saturday morning. I called Clog Busters based on their Angie’s List reviews. They didn’t have a crew available on the weekend, but were available on the following Monday. The crew did a great job explaining the problem and finding a solution for me. Great customer service and they earned their money working in some frigid and snowy weather. I hope to never have another sewer backup, but if I do, I will call Clog Busters."

"They showed me through the camera, everything that was going on and what they would have to do. Kept me informed of when the got the equipment and started the service immediately the next morning and showed me every step and why they needed to do that. When the dug up the old tiles that went from the main sewer line for the city. Very professional and was very careful to not dirty the floors. Felt that it was a really good price. They were very willing to stop and talk to me regarding what they were doing and why. They had to bring the trenching equipment to dig up the yard, they were careful to not make a mess or large amounts of damage of the yard and they did some landscaping around the area to make everything look normal."

"Do your homework first. Check with your city to find out where your sewer line connects to the main. This is the only way to know in advance if repair/replacement work will cross water or gas supply, then when you get a quote you and the company you hire know up front what the situation is and can agree on expectations and costs. Get more than one quote. Don't believe any contractor saying they will leave the site ready to throw grass seed. If the job requires digging up your yard, you will be left with a total mess requiring either a landscape professional to fix it up ($$$) or many days of hard labor on your part."

"The appointment went okay. Checked option "no" for "Would you hire again?" only because the company is based in Jackson and in an emergency not the most practical choice and if it was not for the Angie's List promo we most likely would not have heard about this company."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Whitmore Lake, MI

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
