This is the only way to know in advance if repair/replacement work will cross water or gas supply, then when you get a quote you and the company you hire know up front what the situation is and can agree on expectations and costs. Get more than one quote. Don't believe any contractor saying they will leave the site ready to throw grass seed. If the job requires digging up your yard, you will be left with a total mess requiring either a landscape professional to fix it up ($$$) or many days of hard labor on your part."
